Robot Lawnmower Install and Setup Husqvarna Automower 115H (Initial Review) | Best Automower?

I just insisted to my husband that we buy one of these. When he gets home from work he just doesn't have the energy to cut the lawn ( I don't blame him considering how hard he works) and with a newborn I don't feel comfortable spending that much time outside where I can't hear our son cry. As long as it doesn't get stolen this should fit our needs perfectly (got a plan for that). Thank you for this video. It makes me feel much more confident that we made the right choice and that installation shouldn't be to difficult. Does this count as a good "Father's Day Gift"? 🤔

Thanks, so far I'm happy with the cut job of these mowers. I bought the models with the cellular chips for gps and to control from longer distances than the bluetooth, both mowers chips seem to be disconnecting constantly, I've contacted Husqvarna and they are willing to replace the chips for free under warranty, but the turn around time waiting for new chips apparently is a few months. They still cut fine, I just lose the ability to control them remotely from my phone when they disconnect. I'm filming a 2 month review video I'll be releasing in the coming weeks that goes more into detail about my experience with these mowers.

Hi Jeff, thanks for all the great info and reviews! I’m a new subscriber. Questions: - Does the app allow you to see and control both your automower 115’s? - If so, do you think it would allow for 3 automower 115’s? My yard is a little over an acre and I like your point about having multiple smaller machines vs 1 large. - will the 115 cross a sidewalk or driveway if there is a boundary and a guide wire in the small indented groove lines on the top of the concrete? I have a question. Let's say it doesn't finish and needs to charge. Will it come back out and finish? Or does it randomly bounce around doing spots it's already done? Thanks.

It cuts for about an hour and then goes back to it's home to charge. It's path is completely random and just bounces from spot to spot around the yard. When it leaves the charging station it follows a guide wire that brings it out. You can set different zones using the guide wire and set percentages of how much time it should spend on the different zone areas to cut. But it doesn't leave the charging station and then start cutting right where it left off.

What if you want to add an island later? Do you have to rewire the whole yard? Edit: Oh, you cut it and add a new segment with a coupler

Yep, you can cut and add wire as needed if you want to create different boundary areas or islands.

how does it work to cut a small curb area with a sidewalk. can it be controlled by remote without wires in the grass?

You would need to extend the boundary wire to the small curb grass area on the other side of the sidewalk for the robot to get to it to cut. In my case I have a sidewalk leading up to my house along side my driveway with a small area of grass in front of my house between the house and sidewalk. I had to create a robot pass over section over the sidewalk where I ran the boundary wires in the concrete indents (between sections of the concrete) to let the robot roll over the sidewalk and be able to cut that section of grass and then pass back over the sidewalk so it could go back to cutting the main grass in my front yard, that has seemed to work fairly well. Unfortunately there is no remote for the robot.

Husqvarna site gives three options but their videos not that precise on this situation of wire run.

What do you mean by “score number”? He did say what he paid. But prices change over time. I bought my 115H - with 4G (cellular) - for $730 with tax in July 2023. But it was $1200 a couple years ago (or sooner).
