When I first saw the lamp, I thought, "Nice", but.... Needs RGB Leds and motorized; something I would make a project out of after my 3d printer buy. Then, I see that someone else has already done it. Nice! I now have a template to base mine from. GREAT JOB!

Do you have an updated link on how to replicate this? I have the Wifi ESP 8266 Chip and I'm going to leave it a hang light. I just need to know the motor and how to program the chip.

I still love this Video and also want to build this setup. Where I can found the tutorial? I searched on your website. :D Is it possible to skip the 3D printer part?

Yeah, you're right. I would like to build a new version that is easier to rebuild, but I always have so many other projects that I don't have time for that either.

Please, where can I buy the motor up and down?
@tinkerfun5 жыл бұрын
Hi. I have bought it used on ebay.de. It is a little Faulhaber 24V DC Gear Motor with a spindle. tsimg.space//v1/images/713319f3-4326-e811-8381-00155d099e09.jpg

Awesome project! I'm trying to make this myself but having problems finding a thin threaded rod. Where did you buy your linear rod? And is it a trapezoidal Acme?
@tinkerfun6 жыл бұрын
Hi! Glad you like the project. The 24V DC motor with gearbox and very steep trapezoidal threaded rod I found with luck on ebay. It is from the manufacturer Faulhaber. I found a stepper motor with a flat trapezoidal threaded rod on ebay too and bought them but I think that has not enough power. I like when the motor is not so big in this lamp und have a fast open and close speed ~3 sec.

Which LEDs did you use for the panels? Are there any hints for the cabeling?
@tinkerfun6 жыл бұрын
Hi Mario. When you search on ebay.de "smd led wire" than you get LEDs like how I used. This are very small LEDs but direct with thin copper wire. I update my website content and describe my most favourite projects. I start to document this project, too. But I´m not finished till now. I will post detail photos of the cabeling. Please visit my website and check for content update or follow me on instagram so I will post every news: tinker-fun.com Menü: "Project in detail". Instagram: instagram.com/tinker.fun/ . Have a nice sunday.

Schade.

How easy would it be to just recreate adding a stand to this light and how would that be achieved?
@tinkerfun7 жыл бұрын
You need only 3 parts. The lamp "IKEA PS 2014", the stand base as example "IKEA RODD" and the adapter. The adapter 3D files are on thingiverse. You can download it and have to print it with a 3D printer or order the adapter online by a 3D printer Service. There is a 3D printing service on thingiverse, too. Best regards Benni. www.thingiverse.com/thing:1785549

That's great thank you! The only issue we now have is that the string used to open and close the light is the wrong way up, the mechanism being this way up means we cannot keep the light closed. Do you know how we could solve this issue? Thank you
@tinkerfun7 жыл бұрын
Bethany Griffin Hi. Today I was in a IKEA shop and looked for the problem that you mean. Ok I know now what you mean. At the moment I have no easy idea. I think the roll have to be on the other side but I have no tutorial right now for you. When I have a solution I will write them to you.

@tinkerfun7 жыл бұрын
