Pulled the trigger on a 22L Ultrasonic cleaner after you had purchased yours.... the best money I have spent in years. It's like having another person scrubbing parts for you. (To anyone on the fence about one, get one, and get more than you need.) I use rope too. We need to get you set up with a Dewalt cordless heat gun....

Great video. I've been looking into a cleaner for a while. I went with a 10 L. Thank you. Building my first Husq now. It's a 266SE. I appreciate all your time and knowledge. Thanks for sharing everything!

If I had a shop , I’d try a dishwasher along with an ultrasonic cleaner. Great info. Take care.

I have been using an Ultrasonic Cleaner for a few years now, great for general cleaning of chainsaw parts, especially plastic parts. But by a country mile their best use on chainsaws is for cleaning Carburettors, dismantle the carb and put everything except the Diaphragm and gaskets into the cleaner, give it 15 minutes cleaning at 55 degrees C ( the hot water seems to really help) and it will be perfectly clean. It removes all that really annoying hard to remove old fuel Varnish with no effort. Great Channel BTW 👍

Been thinking about getting an ultrasonic cleaner for a couple years. Man, that really is impressive how much cleaning it can do all by itself! The fact that most windshield washer fluid has methanol in it, does sound like a viable option for less oily/greasy parts cleaning!

We just got some new parts washers at work that use hot soapy water, about 130 F or 55 C, and medium pressure, about 600 psi. Works great on greasy parts, need to take some saw parts in to try out.

Awesome! Was doing the same my saw in the cleaner, hot tip is bicarb soda, or borax, or caustic soda plus dish soap (heaps) all cheap cleaners, worth the shot. Gummy pine sap is hard to clean off, will try the washer fluid myself. I usually spray up carb cleaner on a part prior if nasty and then throw them in. Any commercial grade cleaners will tarnish or even strip electroplating/ zinc coating off if left too long. Be wary!

Tap around a 3/8 extension shaft put through the small end of crank and that helps lock up engine if you forget.

Good stuff as always. Would be interesting to see the timing numbers on that cylinder. Just to see what the aftermarket cylinder times at. Even if you are tossing it. The clutch was stuck on my 371 as well it actually broke coming off. TC Mahalo Tinman 🤙🤙🤙

That’s the only thing I’ll say negative about the 372: the are behind the clutch gets really dirty. I put a “g” 572/592 gray clutch cover on and I’d like to think it helps the general area stay cleaner but idk

I'd love to have a bigger ultrasonic cleaner, but man they get expensive! Mine is a little smaller than your's and I end up mainly using it on carburetors.

That paint inside the crank case is really annoying. Buddy of mine sent me recently an italian Active 62.62 that was seized probably because of the paint flaking due to overheating the saw. I'm building an Active 56.56 for myself and the paint was also starting to flake so i stripped it down. In my other buddy's Maruyama MCV5600 which is basically a newer Active 56.56 the paint seemed fine so I left it as it was. I think they shouldn't be painting inside of the crank case.

The idea of using an ultrasonic cleaning machine to clean a chainsaw is good. What's the cleaning liquid in the ultrasonic cleaner?

I use 30% degreaser(one which I know by experience do NOT HARM the alluminium) and also use a very HOT water inside, this helps A LOT. 70-80 C water. Use this for everything, chainsaw parts, brake calipers, lpg redusers, motorbnike parts, ENGINE parts. Work great for me.
