On the subject of being a good Dad - I find value in the following ideas: 1- Don't raise "the kid(s) you always wanted," raise the one's God actually gave you. 2- Duct tape can fix just about everything, but people friwn upon it's use to make the kid sit still. :) Good to see ya! I don't get nearly enough time to drop by as often as I'd like, but I enjoy the time I do spend when I can. Been praying things keep moving forward bit by bit on that knucklehead. It's a good "Dad Bike." A silent gentleman, as it were. Of course I love chainsaws - who doesn't? But hear my voice as just one of many subscribers, I *really* hope to see that bike coming back together, too! Thanks for the great content, Tin, and thank Mrs. Tin and Min-Tin for sharing some of uoir journey with us. 👍

Hey, Tinman, haters gonna be hatters, you still have 36,599 subs that really appreciate you work and dedication to helping others build saws. To bad youtube doesn't have a unsubscribe button that only you can control. Then you could punt the hater(s). Also I learned a long time ago even negative feedback is just feedback. Sometimes people are just entitled. Don't lose any sleep over it, people like that are always out there, living in there own little world of self-worth. Great video as always. TC Mahalo Tinman 🤙🤙🤙

288 was my go to saw bucking on the landing. skiptooth 404 chain with short rakers. effortless cuts, fantastic bucking saw. Not something to go on a long hike with tho. But the extra weight doesn’t hurt when you’re in the wood 95% of the day.😀

Did my first "port" job on a free Chinese project saw that I picked up. Raised and widened the exhaust, lowered intake slightly. No transfer work since they're open. We'll see how it works. Curious to see if it runs better. Obviously I'll get better, just a start.

@chrismuncey3861 Жыл бұрын
@@coolestguyontheplanet723 So far I haven't been able to find a pop-up piston but I'm waiting to hear back from Ironhorse about trying to use a 272xp piston. I done a gasket delete 2 years ago and it didn't seem to help much squish dropped from 0.040 to 0.025 compression changed from 9.4:1 to 9.56:1.

You my friend are a pleasure to watch. I really like how you relate your work (tinman 😊) to your porting. No offense, but I kinda think your like a mad scientist. I was just running one of my 288 s yesterday. It's stock but I'm 71. Ran 3 tanks of fuel thru her. Made my last cut & it jusr died. So I get home and after a little search I find the spark plug died. WEIRD. Later

Do you have any tips for widening the transfers? Both transfers on the left side the platting chipped away really bad. Once I ground through the platting the bur bit caught it and took out a big chunk. The right side of the transfer ground fine though not sure what I did wrong

It kind of defeat all i heard and saw from tons of posts ive read over time , small crankcase volume saws , the one that have stuffers like a 562 and a 357 , tend to have its power on top and not much low end grunt , and saws with big crankcase like the older sawd seems to have a lot of low end grunt and not rev very high. What do you think about that ?
@ToddAdams1234 Жыл бұрын
Tinman, why do Husky cylinders have a skirt that fits in the body but Stihl does not? If you come across a different brand of mounting gasket for your body than your cylinder will it work (as long as you can get the rest of the goods to work)? What about the same “type” of scenario if a person takes for instance a 372xp cylinder from an XTORK unit a uses a longer stroke crank. That person “might” have to investigate a different brand of saw body that he might be able to get that longer stroke crankshaft to fit into for those desired results. I’m just asking someone who has some dead saws around that might want to check these things out. If you don’t mind taking the time to investigate it then it might be interesting.

Hi Tinman. Can i ask why you didn't drop the transfer all the way to the bottom of the cylinder and perhaps remove the wall in that section completely?
@tinmanssaws Жыл бұрын
I decoded I didn't want quite that much case capacity on this build.
@henryroberts7098 Жыл бұрын
@@tinmanssawskeeping the case capacity down to increase the pressure generated in the bottom end prior to the transfers opening, to help counteract the small transfers?

youre not afraid to cut that low in the cylinder ? i did my 266se swap 272xp i did same profile on transfers but the cylinder skirt is thiner so didnt tried to grind that low in the cylinder. i stopped where the skirt began. dont know if i did good, but we will try it out.
