My favorite Jonsered was a 52E used by professional log fallers in NE Oregon. My dad had a saw shop and sold Homelites (back when Homelite had Production saws) and Jonsered. My favorite Homelite was a 924. Jonsereds were fast and very dependable. I bought a Jonsered 2050C for home use and very happy with it and it surprises the neighbors on how fast it cuts. Thanks Tinman for your videos.

Love Jonsered. have 70e that dad and I bought new in the 70's. Sat on the shelf in the basement for close to 20 years. Took it to local Stihl dealer for a once over. Told me the best thing was to use it for a decoration in a man cave. Found Husqvarna dealer in Ripon, WI. gaver the once over. Wow I forgot what a beautiful saw to run. Bucked up one hell of a pile of wood. Fealt 20 years old again. Love your channel

I've got my Dad's 70E as well. No one wants to work on it. I'm trying to get a carb rebuild kit from Tillitson for it. It's probably worth more for parts but I don't want to sell it. I want to use it!

Thanks for the video, I've been patiently waiting for you to put that 2095 into some wood after the teaser many months ago. I have a 2095 I use for big stuff as well. It just doesn't bog down. My favorite saw to use. I also just finished a full restoration of a 2165 now with a 2171 top end. Jonsereds are my go to old saws. I have a couple more 2165 turd saws to restore, they might end up my first port job if I can bring myself to grinding on OEM cylinders. Keep up the good work Tinman.

Love the channel. Try using a bore cut on those stumps. Bore in two thirds of the width and walk the saw around using a pushing chain, keeping the nose of the bar in the centre and the stump will sit on the chips. You won’t need a wedge and the saw won’t get stuck 👍
@tinmanssaws3 жыл бұрын
Thankyou Ill try that.

Is this why the bar got jammed up and the chain wouldn’t turn? I’ve experienced this on horizontal cuts when the bar and chain froze up for no apparent reason. I’d had to take the chain off or loosen it and free it up by hand.
@onestopfabshop32243 жыл бұрын
Thanks Tinman's buddy! That thing is a beast. The biggest saw I have is a Husky 257 I bought new in 1997. It's real low miles on it and stock except for a recent muffler mod, that it really didn't need as it was pretty open from the factory. I just wanted it to sound a little better. I got the power saw fever! I'm up to 15 saws now, just nothing big bore like you have. I even ended up with a couple Partner 55's. Up to this point, I never heard of them before, but they're built in Sweden. I built one from the two. I did a mild port job and machined the base to get my target. 020" squish. I ended up with .0195". I checked the compression before I started and it was 105 psi. Then using the best piston, the best ring, and the machining, brought it up to 155 psi. I'm in the final stages of tuning now. But boy are those Partner saws ugly in my onion. Some of the models look like a boxy looking toy. Lol. Take care Tinman, you inspire me.

@keitharmitage18013 жыл бұрын
Have you ever tried cutting a stump round in a circle with the top of the bar? The sawdust stays in the cut and acts as a cushion so the bar won't get stuck and you don't need a wedge. Great vid thanks, have a jred 630.

It's an old timer trick, on old saws the starting mechanism might catch or sth when you stop the saw and this can break it, if you pull out the cord then if it catches then it will pull it in a little and dampen that shock
