Your explanation Frieder, is just the thing that all tinnitus sufferes should hear and adhere to. Half the battle is won, when encouragement and optimism is given by health care professionals but at the same time not painting an unrealistic picture of the situation. I cannot stress enough, the power of words to surmount even the most distressing illness. The mind, when it is geared towards believing something that gives a person hope, has a better chance of overcoming debilating maladies, then a person who has been given a concerning prognosis. Keep up the good work!

I thought I was only one who felt this way about tinnitus. I’m in shock now that you sound just like me, do the same avoidance and the things I saw or think. This is probably the best thing I’ve seen on tinnitus. I thought I was alone in doing or thinking these things.

I've had tinnitus for four years. This is the only helpful video I have seen. I live a happy life. Tinnitus will always be annoying, but I have accepted the fact that it will never go away, and I'm ok with that.Every year, it gets better. If you are struggling right now, hang in there. I promise you, it gets easier.

Are most of the cases you see succeeding bilateral? Mine is unilateral and it worries me that true habituation won’t come.

At ent soon to pick my hearing aid the woman at ent said for the first month a feel like my there’s a bucket over my having previously had a trail of the bone Angkor aid. With the normal hearing aid will my voice sound robotic to me and how long for if so Freda sir

At 5:58 words with the letter "S" hurt my ears when i'm speaking. Hyperacusis. Is this a high frequency issue? My hearing test is all normal up to 8000hz. WTF But i cant hear high pitched tones over 11000hz on those tests. Im in early 40s!

No hyperacusis can also be happening without having any kind of hearing loss. It's a psychological and physiological sensitivity to sounds :)
