Lee Chong Wei's gripping method is just you reverse your grip tape so the the non sticky side would go first (the tape part) so you would no longer use the additional Yonex Tape because of the adhesiveness on the grip tape. International Players often changer their grips that's why he could do it. Notice he always has a Clean Grip lol. And just add some more layers to the "Butt" of your Racket as long you are comfortable. And Have Fun Playing!

Yes true, but since LCW is a singles player, he would not mind having a heavier racket as the pace of singles match are slower than doubles, and this is a video about the grip style LCW prefers so yeah keep that in mind.

How would it be heavier? It's literally just a fraction of the grip put to the bottom. The whole thing weighs the same, and the handle is in your hand anyway so it barely changes the moment of inertia.

So OEM grip = include with weight of the racket so probably 3U. Strings = 3g +- Grip around the butt of handle = 1g, electrical tape = Looks generous so around 4g, yonex overgrip = 6.5g Almost around 15G extra onto the racket :O

James Cussons i’d say it gives a more balanced feel in general? i’ve not tried this technique but i do wrap a few more rounds at the tip. helps prevent the racket from slipping off in sweaty situations.

I've tried modifying my racquet with different tapes and all. All I can share is that adding tape will change the balance point, but will not affect the swing weight. His A99 will feel a bit more balanced but when doing overhead shots, the head will still have the original weight. Hope this helped!

Logan Georgel this yellow overgrip is made of polyurethane and very flexible, but default grip is somewhat hard and rough. so we use overgrip for smooth feeling
