I have tinted my own personal vehicles for years. When I started back in 2002, I removed the whole window! Hahaha but your video came across when I was refreshing myself on tinting because I just got a 2021 sierra denali and the tints are the first thing I have to do! You make such great videos and instructions are simple and presented perfectly! You have me as a subscriber now and I appreciate the time and effort you put into it man! You're a great tinter and a great KZbinr, keep it up! 🤙🤙🤙

I use a marker for the sides. Then just cut 1/8 of an inch outside each line. That way you don't have to keep moving the template over and over again.

I've found this very helpful and I'm able to cut door glass so much better now. However I'm having trouble with my tint peeling at the top of the glass over time. I wonder am I putting my tint seem to close to the edge of the glass?
@skouria31357 ай бұрын
Thats exactly what is happening, As soon as u lay it you can run your finger over the top to see if it snags.. If it does then you know the seal will pull it up too. When you lay your top edge let it be around an 1/8th of an inch from the top edge.

Is the liner side always on the outside of the roll? and the tint one on the inside of the roll? Nice video!

Usually yes but some companies roll their film the other way. I will often peel the corner of the film to double check which is the liner side before cutting my film if I'm unsure

Wait this might be a dumb question sorry I’m verily learning ,so you don’t have to shrink unless the window curves ? And about windshield I watch your videos and you don’t have to add water and soap to it right just probably a soap bar and let it dry correct ? And if there’s bubbles try to even them out than heat them if they keep coming out or no ? Thanks

Have you ever thought of wrapping the end of your knife in electric tape so when you ride the top edge you don’t leave a cut in the top of the film all the way across
@DetroitTintStudio7 жыл бұрын
It doesn't leave a cut in the film. i'm not putting much pressure against it. Also the liner is protecting the film in this instance.

What I wonder since I have followed a how to diy training... that some tinters say you have to completely remove the window to get ''the best cut'' and the other tinters say thats bullsh!t. So... both say the endresult is the same for their technique. Is it just a objective meaning or is there a real theory behind both. Just dont see myself demount windows the whole day... would like your style more.
