@channelstelevision: the reporter herself stated that ways & means has been securitized - then she subsequently goes on to ask where the money used to clear it came from? 🤦🏿🤦🏿 Don’t you understand the meaning of securitisation? Also when Government says it’s been cleared, it’s simple and straightforward. Without securitisation, it is an outstanding obligation (or a hole), with securitisation, the government can’t be said to have an outstanding obligation or a default anymore. It’s like a loan or a mortgage. You can either default if you miss a payment or you can restructure if you know you will miss a payment. That’s the difference. The government has avoided a default by securitisation, and therefore it is cleared!

You’re an olodo. Go and look up the meaning of ‘cleared’ in financial terms lol. Shame dey catch me for una. The president either made a mistake or tried to pull a fast one. You defending it is shameful to say the least.

This is incorrect. You owe your bank in overdraft, you then restructure it by converting it to a debt instrument - simply changing the form of liability you have - this clearly does not mean you no longer owe or have paid..because you have absolutely not paid that what you owe and can never claim you have "cleared" your debt.

You have to either admire or pity these APC minions and govt officials who sadly hop from station to station attempting to whitewash every gaffe and misstep by the inept administration, especially when these speakers have no clue what to say or understand the dynamics of the subject matter. This Mr Aliu as always just rumbles and mumbles words from an empty position. Quite unfortunate

Mr Gospel says - saying inflation has dropped is an illiterate argument because it is only the rate of increase in prices that has slowed down - So what is the rate of increase in prices if not inflation? If the rate of increase in prices have slowed down, inflation has reduced. I need some help here. You can’t just let people say what they like and go away, plus he wasn’t even addressing the question asked. On debt service ratio reduction from 97% to 68% - he responds by saying debt to gdp ratio 🤦🏿🤦🏿 can he please look up the difference between debt service ratio and debt to gdp ratio. And doubles down to say it has no impact on - is this an economic or political argument. The first 7 mins of this is sad. The people who should be critical of government don’t even have their facts or knowledge correct

The entire interview was just a waste of time. Both the person who was meant to be defending the president and the people who were meant to be critical lacked any knowledge of the topics.
