God does not choose leaders for nations, just as He does not choose wives for people. But if called upon, He can guide our choices because He knows what is best for us. There is a difference between CHOOSING and ALLOWING. The scripture Seun quoted (Daniel 4:17) means that only what God allows happens. This is in alignment with Proverbs 19:21. God does not choose presidents for nations, the citizens determine whether their leaders emerge democratically or force themselves into leadership. Albeit, only those God allows rules.
