I love tiny knives! These are two beautiful little folders. I have the honour of owning a vintage Seki-made Al Mar Talon, an excellent little lockback. I think the Opinel #1 might be the one they put on a keychain. It is really tiny, still, functional in many instances. I gifted one to a good friend perhaps a decade ago and he recently told me that it continues to be his legitimate EDC knife, always in his pocket on the keychain.

Two gorgeous knives. I have plenty of knives that are not pinned. In my opinion, sometimes pinning is unnecessary, especially with today's epoxies. I do like abalone but I like you, I prefer mother of pearl, especially black lip MOP. The Al Mar in black lip looks fantastic. Cute little opinel.

Brilliant video and knives, Eric. I managed to pick up recently a beautiful lobster pattern MOP I-XL, for a song. I nearly went for that A. G Russel knife on Congys. Thank you, Eric 🤝

A.G. Russell knives are one of my favorite knife brands, I have some small knives like you have that are slip joints and open quite easy. 👍

What if everyone in the UK started carrying whatever knife best suited their requirements - as well as speaking their minds freely and openly both in person and online? Just a thought experiment. My guess is that this is marginally more ikely to happen than the prosecution, conviction and improsonment of every UK citizen would be, were it to happen.

I do like MoP and abelone, but as accents only. If full/ partial handles/ covers, I'd be afraid of dropping the knife, as I'm prone to do, and shattering the lovely covers. Very pretty nonetheless.

How utterly ridiculous that tiny lockback isn't a UK-legal carry. Interesting little knives, I like something larger in my pocket, but that's just me. Opinel discontinued their Number 1 size in the 1930s, and the Number 2 has been their smallest model since then.
