very nice job Paul ... for your trolling motor issue ... put your electric as far forward as possible and make sure your outboard is down and straight ... it would be your rudder and it should track straighter when using your electric.

Great build, thanks for pointing out a few things you would do differently. Drawing out plans for a new to me 14’ V Lund. Going for an 8’ rod locker on the left and 3 18” top lockers on the right of a narrowed cockpit. Some front storage, I’ll keep in mind the forward seat placement with the forward lockers. Read in another comment that you had sold your boat, hope you come across another one someday, it seems like you really enjoyed this one and the times spent with family in it. Best wishes to you, and thanks for sharing.

Great job on the front deck. I like the clean look of the electronics in the front.

Hell yeah brother that thing is sweet! Got a 12ft'er also. I slapped a 15hp Merc in the back and she flies. I made a trolling motor mount to put mine up front as well. Anytime mine seems to track all screwy it's because I didn't lock the outboard straight and it got turned by a stump or something.

Get yourself a harbor freight wheel jack so you don’t have to lift it. Save your back. Best investment in my opinion. Great looking boat by the way.

Okay. New small boat owner as of yesterday. 12 foot V hull bare bones boat. I have a lot of work to do.... I can build the sub floor, benches and the deck. How are y'all keeping your batteries charged??.

New builder myself, I’m planning on putting a “shore power” plate in a vertical section of my plywood, and attach that to a low amp charger that stays mounted in the cubby. When it’s in the barn, just put an extension cord to the plug plate.

Looks great .I am restoring a 1973 Rich Line with a 1972 Evenrude 9.5 that looks just like this one. Except for the camo I coated mine black and green they are identical really.down to the deck seat and carpet It's like i was looking at my own boat.If you would like some advice, install a drop wheel on the front of the trailer to take the weight off your back and center the boat over the wheels, That will greatly reduce the weight as well and make for better towing.Hope this helps if you have not figured it out already.

Amazon panel, not sure how it’s holding up since I sold the boat several months after making this video. Decent quality though.

@paulkonnikov3952 жыл бұрын
Michael I’ve sold the boat and not able to show the closer details but if I get another (slightly larger one) one day, I’ll do something similar and show more info. It was hooked to my work truck, a Chevy 2500 with a work box (KUV) on the back. Just a metal box with multiple storage compartments.
@shanepeter16163 жыл бұрын
I like the shallow storage you did in the mid bench...thats a great idea. Keeps the depth under it available for bigger stuff, and great solidity for that big hatch, and the shallow storage is nice for stuff you want quickly accessible. Well done! Is that an Alumacraft? I have a 14' MirroCraft V-hull I'm planning a build out on right now

The boat is from the 60’s and didn’t have any info. Was a nightmare to get it titled but we finally got it figured out.

how did you make supports between the seats under the deck in the front.
@paulkonnikov3952 жыл бұрын
Ran several 2x4’s from front of boat to front seat and all the way to middle seat. Then added a vertical piece in the middle towards the front and it was plenty strong enough.

So how much weight did you guess you added to it? Nice job by the way am doing g my 12 footer with alum to try and keep it light.

How did it do on the water? Balance wise by yourself when you were up front?
@paulkonnikov3952 жыл бұрын
Alone was just fine, with a second adult in the back, we had to coordinate our side to side movements just a bit since the person in the back could make you lose your balance.
@emmytgerek66332 жыл бұрын
did you coat the deck in anything to protect it from water or has it held fine?

@@Pol53218 I kept it on the side but was trying to figure out how I can mount it towards the front. I took it out on small lakes exclusively, not large enough for larger lakes. I have since sold the boat, unfortunately didn’t have enough time to get out and fish.
