Use oval jumprings. That is what I use for small chains and it works !!!

I use a bit of super glue in the opening of the jump ring to close the gap.

I actually thought of trying that!

OK, Theresa, the best way to solve this problem is to buy a tool that turns your round jump rings into oval jump rings. Just make sure the jump ring opening is on the side when you place it in the tool. This way the chain will not slide out ever. This also saves you money because you don't have to go out and buy more jump rings. (I guess I am just cheap) Since I am (finally retired) I have enjoyed watching your you jewelry you tube videos and have made several of your pieces of jewlery. I am originally from the Great Lakes area (suburb of Cleveland) and have also lived in South Florida. I am heart sick about this shooting in Orlando and am only thankful that I don't know any of these young people's families since I no longer live in Florida and can not be there to help comfort them. I have worked with people of different races, colors and religions most of my working life and have never had any problems with any of them. My life has been greatly enriched by knowing them. (gotten great recipes and learned new crafts) The USA was build on and has flourished with emigrates from around the world. If my grandparents had not fled Europe to come here and raise their families, I would not be here nor would my children and grandchildren be here also.

Insightful, as always, where do you live T? We're moving there.

Sometimes I will use two jump rings in the hope that the little gaps won't ever line up in exactly the same spot. I agree wholeheartedly with your comments.

Many helpful comments, thanks for asking your question. I assumed I needed to use the tiniest dumplings, which are difficult for me to work with. In regards to your other concern, I can relate to your angst. A few years ago I decided to educate myself so that I would better understand. I have learned that it doesn't matter what we believe, rather what these terrorists believe. I hope this helps!!

While reading the comment, I wondered what difference the shape of the jump ring could possibly make in it's ability to stay closed. Then I googled oval jump rings and saw what people meant--the opening is on the side--Aah. I'm with you on the watching the nuts. All it takes is one to cause a lot of damage to a community. People need to stop burying their heads in the sand and look up from their phones once in awhile. Now it is 6 days after the incident and all sorts of warning signs were there--the wife knew he was up to something and never did anything about it. Just sad.

Use a little bit of super glue and and turn the jump ring into the bead. I have had to do that a couple times. It works like a charm.

Have you thought of using split rings?

I couldn't find any small enough in the right color.

Well, that really sucks. The oval rings that someone suggested sounds like a pretty good alternative. and a dab of glue :D

Amen, TC. My thoughts are with those families that lost a loved one and the ones that are fighting for their lives. People ask me why I don't believe in God and I tell them that most of the time I see how God believers behave, and I don't want any part of their hateful bigoted rhetoric. Life is too short. I want love and peace for everyone, no exceptions.

As for the chain I'd use a dot of glue. As for the rest, I totally agree with you WTF has happened to the world. I am so upset over the shooting, every time I put the TV on ( living near Orlando) I start crying again. :(

It's all very sad. I hate the descriptor of the assailant. But I guess they're using his religion to juxtapose the fact that the victims were in a gay bar? Anyways, yeah, maybe a drop of super nuglue. I love hearing your views, btw. My husband likes your hands! Be well, T.
