I do D U D Dx Ux Dx U U D U U D U. where you see the 'x' that means im muting the strings by not actually pressing all the way down during that portion of the strum which gives a percussive muted effect. i dont know the chord names but here is where you put your fingers for the four chords (in order): 5765, 5555, 3333, 3335

I read the pattern as: D-D. d-U-D-Û U-D-U, U-D-U Period means chuck. little “d” is a grace strum, just the root note. Û means stress the Up hold it for two counts. I try to stress the D strum on the last two “U-D-U” groupings. Count it as two bars of 4/4 time. So, “D-D.” = “1, 2” Hope this helps! There are other grace notes in the intro too
