If it is for human waste why would you use cat turds covered with kitty litter for your test? Use human turds, that's what it is for
@presidentjoethudbrandon70742 жыл бұрын
Clay will never burn. No matter how hot you get it it's just going to be vitrified. You made cat poop pottery, lol I was thinking a couple.of small potatoes and a scoop of peanut butter would make a good test to see what's actually left at the end.

Hi Cari Beth! wasn't expecting part 2 so soon, but glad. I was surprised to see anything other than ash! So I looked up "does clay cat litter burn". Nope. Now we know. But I am shocked to see that liner still in there. I see that the cat food is prescription. I know that pain $$$. I'm really surprised that so much was left after the cat food burn. Are there any adjustments to be done, or do you just have to let it regulate itself? I'm sure more experimenting will give you the answers. Maybe results with human waste will be slightly different (I know you can't show that). Since the ash doesn't have to be emptied every time, maybe regular use will give multiple "re-burns" and that will make the difference. Thanks for showing this alternative. Extra hugs and kisses for the cats for their participation and for being good sports. See you next video!

Yes, expensive prescription catfood that they turn their noses up at! So typical of kitties, lol. I've cut back mostly on the prescription food & now mostly give them very good premium catfood. It is pretty much the same price. But it really does help keep them healthy compared to the catfoods with all the fillers. It looks like there are 2 separate gauges to adjust. I'm going to see if they make a difference.

Awesome! Time for the solar panels and electric van combo to go with it and you're almost off the grid but at least out of the motels any where you go as far as you go! (solar shower chamber still needed in Electrician's van though) Bring along a Biogas2 tent to make your own propane as you go and your camping needs are taken care of! Almost! need that water filtering device too.... wonder who to buy that one from...

No, it wasn't practical. It really cannot deal with the amount of urine even 1 person produces. Also, it does have an odor outside when it's burning. We took it out after using it for one trip. I would not recommend it at all.

This version on the video is the smallest. Eco John, the parent company, sells incinerating toilets in bigger sizes! That way you can have your cake ( or man sized burrito), eat it, and incinerate it too. 😉

@ceefiveceefive4 жыл бұрын
I inadvertently adjusted it down before my first test which is why the ash was not smaller. Also there was alot of clay litter in it & that does not burn well. The adjustments are needed because there are environmental factors that are different depending on where you are located, elevation, humidity, etc. Thanks for watching & commenting!

I have a Separette which is a great solution, except handling disposal is challenging at the moment. I need to either a) find an incinerator or build a stand-alone solution where I can place a composable bag of waste and turn it to ash.

14:05 You must not or cannot compare cat food/leftover food with feces. The feces have already undergone a digestion or decomposition process, but food remains have not. This means that the composition and structure of the solids is completely different during the combustion process.

I had to laugh at the cat food "waste." I have had furballs all my life and I totally understand your comments. I have the same thing also with the food that falls out of favor. I draw the line at opening 4 cans now. If I can't find anything they want , they just get cream until they get hungry enough to eat. I even started baking free range chicken for them. I guess they could be holding out for the cream, it is whipping cream. I am considering a small home on the family property and I don't want to deal with handling Black waste. This really looks promising. Thanks for the demonstration, and humor.

How have you found its ability to burn #2 deposits since you posted this video? I found the cat food demonstration a little concerning considering that the average bowl movement is 14 to 17 oz (the 3 cans of cat food are at the upper end of that average).
@sitgesvillaapartmentneilsc79243 жыл бұрын
Your trying to burn fullers earth I think that is what cat litter is made from and therefore its not flammable and in fact it would insulated the faeces from the heat of the burner. Very good demo though and perfect for people who live off grid but can get gas and power and those who dont want to dig up huge tranches of land to install a loo. For me persoanally my pool is 50 metres from the house and I would consider installing one there as there is a changing room but no sewerage access. Excellent toilet, a little pricey I feel but it does solve a lot of problems, one thing is they need to look at how the front container cover is fixed, needs to be easy to remove. Butterfly nut or a lock similar to inside. I also think as that chamber becomes more full it will burn a lot better. Using raw or processed food as a replacement for faeces will not give the same result as the body has processed the food and its a totally different substance, sadly the only way to try is present the loo with the right poop 😄 Great demos thanks for going the extra mile.......

@ceefiveceefive4 жыл бұрын
Mine does not because I had them install a catalytic converter on it. It cost $50 extra for it. If one does not opt for the catalytic converter, you can spray scent in the bowl before burning which would help with any odors. There is a button to press that will supply scented water or a cleaning agent. If you follow the directions and vent it to the roof properly, you will likely find few if any unpleasant odors. Pro-tip: Add a splash of bbq flavoring to the bowl & flush. It will smell like a cookout!
