In today’s tiny acrylic painting challenge we paint a landscape depicting a misty lake with light moving through the fog. This relaxing painting tutorial is completed for the most part in real time and will cover the step by step process of how to paint trees, fog, mist, a lake and of course how to make it all look realistic. You can find the colors I used for this palette listed below in the description. For assistance with the drawing process or color mixing process you can find the traceable and reference photo here:

Additionally, this is the first time I have painted with you. Absolutely would LOVE more miniatures, or smaller paintings. Wish everyone could post pics of how theirs turned out. I look forward to doing more with you. Thank you Ryan! I learned a lot. Keep them long! I hate having to break stride to pause with others that go so fast.

Hi Ryan this comment could take longer than your tutorial I watched your video three times and just loved it finally plucking up the courage to do it, it took me a lot longer than your tutorial about 14 hours I finally finished it and I'm absolutely over the moon with it, my family and friends can't believe that I did it, it's the best tutorial on you tube with out doubt and your lesson on colour mixing is just great, I'm 83 from the UK and started painting about 3 years ago I've learned so much from you and boosted my confidence, thank you thank you thank you

I also would like to thank your patrons for making these lessons available for the rest of us as you’re an amazing teacher! I’ve been a patron of yours in the past but recently I’m learning pastels, once I’ve got a good basic knowledge of them I hope to go back to learning acrylics. I’ve only experimented with them a little bit but I do enjoy painting. Thanks again! The new series is a really nice change, I enjoy watching!

I love the idea of smaller paintings. Your videos are fine and digestible in the time frame of this one. Please keep these type of paintings going. I am currently working on your garden gate in the Thomas Kincade style. Thank you for your wonderful style and teaching you do it is making me a better artist with ever painting I attempt.

Ryan you are not just a great artist but a great teacher. I never heard you had to layer acrylic. One question I have is wouldn’t it have helped a lot to gesso the canvas first?

A beautiful sunset landscape. Accurate expressiveness🌟. Especially the representation of the surface of the water is wonderful.✨ The unevenness of the seams of the canvas is a kind of taste.👌

This is gorgeous, Ryan! I had started a misty river kayak scene but think I may modify it to incorporate more sky after seeing this vid. Thank you so much for making good videos on how to paint your beautiful paintings! I love the new series. I usually don't watch speed painting videos, but the 3 hour long ones take more than one sitting. So an hour would be great. There was alot going on in this painting & I appreciate your explanations, so it was well worth the time.
