How did 1972 poseidon sank

in the original version it doesn't sink but in some other version of it beyond the Poseidon it lists a bit to the bow and when everyone escapes explodes making water shoot up.

In the original it doenst full sink, but it is hit by a rogue wave caused by an underwater earthquake then it capsizes and the red lower part of the ship just stays up
