Very interesting educational video. Thank you Nurse Tiff. I have a question for you. where I used to work, when a baby uses CPAP, an OG tube will be installed to reduce abdominal distension. how could this happen? Will air from the lungs penetrate into the stomach then how can the tube reduce the pressure? please help explain to me. Thank you very much

I love your videos! Should we be concerned with pressure ulcers/injuries on the face and/or mouth since the OG is so close to the skin? I understand there is a layer of Duoderm that separates the OG tube from being in direct contact with the skin, however have you seen the tubing be the cause of skin breakdown for pts with long term OG or intubation placements? Thanks in advance!

I used to be a NICU nurse and went to med surg to travel in. Im now back in NICU at a hospital at a level 2. Been watching to refresh up. One question. Does it matter if the OG is taped in the middle vs having the tube taped at the corner of the mouth?

No. We typically tape in the center though. But for some kids that are starting to work on bottle feeding sometimes we can tape to the side so it makes it easier to suck on the bottle
