I’ve done tours of Europe and played at Austin city limits and wrote for other artists. Those particular lyrics are absolutely mind blowing in every sense of the words. You can interpret them how you want but the bitter truth of loneliness and desperation that everyone feels when they don’t have a loved one near them springs to mind. Stunning and criminally underrated.
