Well you have got the right idea, in getting all the things ready, and wrapped up. Before getting on with the house. All you can do is avoid the heat, and keep out of the middle heat of the day. Because the sun has been giving of CMI quite frequently, something too follow bit more closely. Have a good week and God bless amen .

And you have to take care of the animals, am and pm. We had a 50 by 50 yard, 2 city lots with the house on the nw corner and when the sewer came the connection was in the se corner and a lot with to the street. My dad dug the entire trench for the new sewer line. I remember Mom tied me to a clothes line and I watched him digging. I don't remember the out house but it must have been there.

respect for seeing the necessity of doing it now! that "windfang" i spoke earlier.. its not a mudroom, it would be just like you do walls on the overhang of the solarshed door. its not more. and wood help there also against wind and rain.

That separation between the undercoat and the top coat is called delamination. I'm still watching the video so not sure why its happened here. But perhaps that term could help ID the issue. In concrete this happens because there's a "cold bond" when a pour of concrete starts setting up prior to the next pour gets on top. Perhaps this is what happened to a degree. The different materials could be a part too I suppose.

Just a quick suggestion: get the tractor guy to fill in all those trenches, then have him dig them out one at a time. Work with your inspector, they are usually reasonable people and wouldn’t mind coming out a couple times. Save your back. Unless there is another reason I’m not privy too, in that case, disregard.
@TinyShinyHome
@TinyShinyHome Жыл бұрын
That doesn’t make any sense. They’re 90% complete and he’s going to come and finish the rest of it with his tractor. Why would he fill it all back in and then redo it? Especially when the walls are as fragile as they are already?
@deepsix8495
@deepsix8495 Жыл бұрын
@@TinyShinyHome fair enough. Wasn’t up on the 90%, just saw you guys digging with shovels and I thought I heard you say it was because you couldn’t get the tractor in there. That’s why I added the disregard.

Can you please explain what type of septic system you are using and why the the leach field pipes are so large in diameter? I'm used to them being 6" pipe and being probably twice as long as what your field looks dug, so I was curious if it's a newer breed of a system needing that sized pipe and how it is all supposed to work. Thank you in advance for answers, and especially if you're able to make a whole video to explain it all!!!
@TinyShinyHome
@TinyShinyHome Жыл бұрын
They’re not pipes (www.infiltratorwater.com/products/chambers/) - chambers are a newer way to create leach fields. Length is similar to perforated pipes, we just divided ours so they weren’t as long.

Was it a problem with the mix or did it dry to fast
@TinyShinyHome
@TinyShinyHome Жыл бұрын
I think our extreme climate was just too much for this mix. It was recommended by Cal-Earth but obviously failed pretty hard. Driving hail put bullet holes in it, sideways rain soaked through the surface coat, freezing contraction and heat expansion separated the top layer. We've learned we need something fiber reinforced and then a waterproof membrane on top to seal it.

The 6 of you all remind me of my parents and my 3 siblings when we were all young. My parents bought land in Texas and we built and dug and built and put in gardens and trees. I feel empowered with the knowledge I've always had from helping and doing all my chores. I've tried to pass on my knowledge to my children. The many projects you have your children help you with will make them self sufficient for their entire lifetime.

We began house construction planning in 2018 for a house to be built in Tucson. One of the requests was very deep eaves in order to protect the stucco walls and to cast shade to keep the walls cooler. We now have at least 30” deep eaves. Gutters capture the rainwater and store it in five 1,000-gallon tanks for irrigation purposes.
