We continue travelling around Tioman island. This time I’ll show you my hike to Juara Beach. Also I’ll give you some tips and advice on safe jungle forest hiking!

Subscribed, liked and shared on my WhatsApp group chat your vlog jungle trail from Kampung Tekek to Juara Beach, Tioman Island. I did the hike way back in 1992 very early in the morning and reach the other side of the island before noon. I saw not much difference on the trail though, 😁🤭. I did camping by the beach and the next day took the "seabus" (hired boat) from Juara Beach back to Kampung Tekek. Prior to the hike, two days before that I was in Kampung Salang after took the ferry ride from Mersing jetty. Stayed over night camping on another smaller island called Pulau Tulai not far from Kampung Salang travel by seabus less than 15 minutes ride. The 1992 5 days, 4 nights travel plan to Tioman ended up me staying in Kampung Tekek for another 6 nights before I left the island back to KL via light aircraft from Tioman airport to Subang. 🤭😁👍

Nice! Thanks for sharing! The beauty of Tioman is that it is rather low key and the government seems to be happy about the way it is and doesn’t want to turn it into a huge Disney land (like they do in other places like Vietnam).

Hi Anton, I have heard a lot about you from your mum and Anastasiia - she stayed with me last year while she was studying in London. I enjoyed your video and the account of your walk very much - it was so interesting to see the plants, animals and insects and to hear your thoughts along the way and the beach is beautiful! 3:33 don't forget to bring along poncho or light rain coat if possible which sometime the weather is very unpredictable. In 1992, I bring along with me two pieces extra large garbage bags, one act as an "emergency rain coat" and the other one of course I bring back all my camping garbage with me. 🤭

Ah yeah that’s a must too. Weather there is really unpredictable. Most of the time when I was there it was nice and sunny, but that’s a tropical island, things might change really quickly😅

It's such a beautiful place there,I went by the road and got to Adams waterfall,had the fish spa then came back ,I saw quite a few monkeys and birds coming back...the road is tough its uphill a lot and then downhill mostly coming back.For me Tioman is like a therapy.

Yeah it is quite therapeutic… I missed the Adams waterfall though. The internet doesn’t work in the forest so I didn’t really want to go far off the track. Now that I think about that hike I feel that it was kinda risky to go there on my own. No internet, no people around, just you and the jungle😅

Thanks! Oh caving, I actually did some in Ipoh, there are some spectacular caves to explore! Those guys offer really fun tours, I did one where we explored several big caves and them did rafting down the river. Real fun!

Anastasiia Glushkova thanks!☺️ the water was good. Though this particular beach is not really great for snorkelling. You could do windsurfing there or just chill on the soft sand.

Anastasiia Glushkova haha oh no, I have this contact lenses dilemma which stops me from doing very active kinds of sports in the water. It is dangerous if I fall into the water and some water gets under lenses - quick way to notorious eyes infection. Theoretically I could wear goggles, but that feels a bit weird. Still deciding😂

Hey Dave oh thanks for letting me know. Yeah that’s quite of an odd one. It feels like they’ve set up some AI generator that almost automatically generates videos every two days. And looks like it is using footage of other people that it can find on the net. I did not receive any message from them asking to use my footage so that’s rather weird.
