This week, we are visiting Tiong Bahru Market for lunch. The popular Tiong Bahru Market opened in 1951 and was originally named Seng Poh Road Market. The market was only renamed to Tiong Bahru Market after it was revamped back in 1993. It was still a single-storey building with a triangular layout then. The biggest change for Tiong Bahru Market took place in 2004-06 when it was closed and a new building was erected, which is the current structure now. It now comprises of a 3 storey building with a large central garden courtyard on a triangular site. The fresh market is located on the ground level which consists of 255 provision shops and wet produce stalls.
The hawker centre is on the 2nd floor which houses 85 food stalls with a seating capacity of 1,050. There is an urban park and garden as well as car parking facilities on the 3rd floor which is the roof deck.

1. Hong Heng Fried Sotong Prawn Mee - Hokkien Mee ($4).
2. Lor Mee 178 - Lor Mee ($4).
3. Jian Bo Shui Kueh - Shui Kueh ($3 for 5 pcs).
4. Tiong Bahru Tau Suan - Tau Suan ($2).
5. Tiong Bahru Soya Bean - Soya Bean Drink ($1.20).
