You are absolutely right on! Do it, then build on your success'. I was 29 when I killed my first Dall in 1975, 31, when I killed my Stone, and finally was able to get a Rocky Mountain goat in 2011 at 12,800' in Colorado, just before I turned 66. That morning the mountain was totally fogged in and I was told that we should go back to camp. I said no, that the Lord gave us the fog to give me time to climb to where we expected the goats to be. Just as we were reaching our desired elevation the fog lifted and a few moments later I had my beautiful billy. Even age won't hold you back if you can keep the mind strong. Thanks for your wonderful videos; helps keep me going!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow good input. I need to grab ahold of those crappy weather days in preseason scouting/training.

Hey Greg, there are crappy situations every day. Work on enjoying it, and everything gets easier. The next time it's raining and you're looking for excuses, imagine what I would say to you if you were my hunting partner!

This series is really helping and inspiring me. My 1st ever sheep hunt is in the Yukon in 2020. My prep work is in full force and the timing of this couldn’t be better. Thanks.

You are my hero. This information is INVALUABLE. I’ve had a couple times when elk hunting where my mind strength was shot, and I was pretty much all but done. I was just going through the motions up on the hill, and I talked myself into actually going home. I’ve always regretted that, and this video has given me a spark. Combined with tip 1, I will apply this to my hunting. Thank you so much

Hi Greg, I know you are a fan of stowing the rifle in the middle of your pack as am I... A problem I've run into is using my pack rain over in this configuration. I saw a video of you doing it but I couldn't really tell how you had it set up. A video on that would be cool if you're looking for ideas.

Hey Taylor, the simple solution is to cut a small hole in the rain cover, being careful to reinforce the edge so it doesn't tear. I think you can handle it!

I’m signed up for a mountain goat hunt in 2021. My biggest concern is having to spend a few days in the tent because of weather. Sounds like you get out and hunt anyway.
@GregMcHalesWildYukon4 жыл бұрын
If you're in Alaska or somewhere near the coast, you can get weathered in for sure, but if there's a chance that the weather will clear, I definitely get myself in position. The rain always seems worse when you stay in the tent.

Run on sentences galore.
@GregMcHalesWildYukon2 жыл бұрын
Sometimes run on sentences are annoying, but there are other times I think they are great, and if you think about it, which I don't do, personally, very often, they are one small detail of the many things one could comment on, so I will thank you for commenting.
