TIP - Modeling with the Poke Tool

Until I saw this video I had no idea how Jonathan Williamson and others got the operator menu to open back up. Thank you for saying that you pushed F6 instead of assuming that we all knew what you pushed. Also, thanks for this quick tip. This tool would have saved me time on previous projects where I would attain this tool's result using the knife tool. This tip will speed up my workflow.

Yeah, learned about poke tool just yesterday, could be an awesome addition to the modelling knowledge. Oh and by the way, there is a another way o do the vase pokes. Select all the faces, ALT+E, click on individual faces, and when it extrudes, change to individuals origins down below and scale the extruded faces down to 0.

Cool demo, thanks. One thing I would point out is that in cut glass, you have grooves where the cut took place and you wouldn't have pronounced bumps that stand proud of the base material. Reminds me more of a hand grenade. :-)

I was wondering how I would make the spiky top of the acorn I'll be modeling in a couple weeks! I knew there would be some simple method for that. I tested the poke tool out for the first time a couple days ago, but didn't know about the poke offset. You've just made that part of this project much easier.
