Phuntsok, Tsering Paldon, Tenzin Nyima and Nyima Dhondup ཕུན་ཚོགས། ཚེ་རིང་དཔལ་སྒྲོན། བསྟན་འཛིན་ཉི་མ། ཉི་མ་དོན་གྲུབ།
Goshi Tenzin Phuntsok was born in Lhasa. In 1994, he came into exile and, through the blessing of His Holiness the Dalai Lama and under the care of Tibetan Children’s Village, he studied at the TCV schools in Suja and Gopalpur. In 2004, following his interests and aspirations, he joined the Tibetan Institute of Performing Arts. In 2013, through the kindness of Gyalwang Karmapa Rinpoche, he received opportunity to study music in Taiwan. He has performed in many countries, including India, Taiwan, Singapore, France, USA and Canada. In 2017, he was appointed as a music teacher and several years later he was appointed as the Artistic Director at the institute.
Tsering Paldon was born in Mandi District in Himachal Pradesh. In 1974, she joined the Tibetan Institute of Performing Arts and in the next five years she was trained to be a music teacher. In 1990, she joined the institute as a performing artist. Since then she has travelled to various countries around the world to showcase Tibetan music, dance and opera performances. Currently, she is a senior teacher at the institute.
Tenzin Nyima was born in Kathmandu, Nepal. In 2014, he joined Tibetan Institute of Performing Arts and is currently in the fourth year of training. He has participated in various performances along with senior artists of the institute. He has been an excellent student who has consistently topped in his class since 2014.
Nyima Dhondup is from Karze in eastern Tibet. In 2002 he fled from Tibet and joined St. Joseph’s College, Bangalore. however, in 2016, he chose to follow his passion in music and performing arts, and joined the Tibetan Institute of Performing Arts. Currently, he is in the third year of training and has played important roles in performance such as the Life of Buddha, special standup comedy episodes. He has recorded and performed various songs such as Tashi Dhuesang, Phama Drenlu. His new song dedicated to His Holiness the Fourteenth Dalai Lama is scheduled to be released next year.
