I remember going to Tipp matches in the 70s and early 80s as kids during the famine years. We were actually coming home from Clare visiting relatives in the Toyota Carina and screaming and roaring in the car listening to the match. Great memories.

I lived abroad when this game was played and as a Tipp supporter I was delighted with the outcome. However I never agreed with handpassed goals and goals 3 and 4 for Tipp were in that category. Thankfully the rules have changed since then and all goals have to come from the hurley or boot. When the same teams met 4 years later the draw and replay produced an aggregate of 14 goals, all of which were from the hurley. Those goals from 1991 looked far better in my view.
