In all my years living in Ireland hurling still blows me away...what a game, what skills, what passion, what 💓 heart, what strength of purpose...I am Scots and I envy the Irish their amazing field games...and these boys are bloody AMATEURS, they play for pride...this is sport as it should be.

I love this sport. I’m from Manchester, I have a large family from Carrick on suir , they are all staunchly proud of Tipperary. I’ve been there loads, I saw Tipp win the Munster championship against Waterford a few years back at semple stadium in Thurles. Love hurling, the skill , commitment and bravery and passion of these players considering it’s an amateur sport is amazing, it puts the mard arse footballers to shame. Respect to Galway, Kilkenny, Cork and atm Limerick who are brilliant and the team to beat. Hopefully Tipperary can get back challenging again. MCFC Loyal since 1973.

Doesn't matter how many times I watch this game, never get bored of it. 2009 was a superb match but this one...f' me! There have been finals with more stylish open hurling. Superb shoot-outs, like the 2014 drawn game. Unparalleled drama like 1994. Unequaled stories like 1995 & 1996. The conditions on the day...the cold, the breeze, the mist and the rain...was the most anti-hurling weather for any final but the two teams produced a masterpiece despite it. Beyond doubt, the greatest All-Ireland Senior Hurling final I have ever been at or even seen.

10 years ago today. Painful as a Kilkenny man, but Tipperary deserved it. And came out on top deservedly in 2016 and 2019 too. Hope Kilkenny wins again soon!

2022 they made the all Ireland again, it was a great match.. Kilkenny played fantastic yesterday but unfortunately limerick came out on top. As a tipp person we're still waiting🤣 well done.

Liam if it wasn't Tipperary in the final in 2010 if it was Waterford or Clare or Galway KK would have walked it and made history that day winning 5 -in- a row and gone on to win 7 -in -a row and they would have been the greatest hurling team in history It was Tipperary's determination and hunger won it that day for them.

This was the day Tipperary respectively saved the Hurling Championship, this great Kilkenny team could have won between 2006-2012 in a row, an unhealthy roll of honour prevented by a highly deserved and spirited Tipperary display.

@mac6899 Yes it was two times that Kilkenny should really not have qualified for the All Ireland final because after the Waterford replay in 2016 two players got bad injuries and couldn't play. It should have been Waterford vs Tipperary in 2016 and Limerick vs Tipperary in 2019. Limerick wouldn't have won 2019 because Tipp would have got revenge over that years Munster final loss and Tipperary are one of the hardest teams to beat in an All Ireland final, no matter who the opposition is and even the great Kilkenny teams from 2009 to 2014 struggled against them!

At 56 minutes Tommy Walsh hit a tip player twice with the hurl at the head. In 09 Benny Dunne had 1 wild swipe because Walsh was pulling him constantly and got a red turned a game tipperary were on course to win. Still grates me.

Huge rivalry they are neighbouring counties,but different provinces.Tipperary is bordered by 8 traditional hurling counties,but the one with kilkenny is the biggest non munster rival .In hurling you have the holy trinity cork tipperary and kilkenny these counties have won the majority of all irelands.Cork and tipperary play in the munster championship whereas kilkenny play in leinster which means they only meet in a semifinal or final.There is a lot of tipp people working in kilkenny and vice versa and of course there is intermarriage,which spices up the rivalry.
