Glad i did found you. You tube just opened and you were on the top line of the videos. They look much better than what Gopher offers. Guy, a model isn't gonna run and drive i just mix the wiring al separate ways.

Thanks for demonstrating this process. I've done this before, a loooong time ago but, I have never used an aftermarket one. I may give this a try on my next build.

I too love me some Hemi. I'm stuffing that one with the six pack into Revell's Ramcharger.

You can find plenty of engine photos on the net to show how factory wires were run, and how people with modified engines run them. Some engines had wire guides attached to the valve covers or intake manifold to hold the wires in certain positions, but then no factory hemi had a superrcharger.

Not since 2015 anyway, lol.

Cool tips! I find it hard to find this kind of specialist part so I've made these as best I can using Tamiya wires. I'm about to build a Heller kit which actually has one of these moulded in rubber with the tyres. I've never seen that before.
@insomniahobbies3 жыл бұрын
I order mine from Ted's Modeling Marketplace. Other than that one can use 30 guage wire wrap. I'll kind of be doing that in the engine build for my current WIP.

Nice tutorial. I too like to use MAD distributors. I just subbed your channel.

For my boots i just pull off enough wire ill need for the boots and coil. Take your knife and roll the wire a couple times, take your finger nail and thumb nail where you cut at and just simply slide it off. All your wanting is the insulation. Just throw the copper wire away

Hi. I dont know if you found a solution to get the copper out of the wire for the boot. Im a new subscriber. So you can use a wire stripper to get a little insulation off the pull the copper out. It works best if the wire is warmed up with a hairdryer ect. Good luck

take a pair of electrical wire strippers to remove the insulation then cut that to the size of your boots and glue to your plug wires...... could you please add links to the products you review, enjoyed this.....thanks
@insomniahobbies3 жыл бұрын
I never thought about stripping back the wire to slide the boot over. Thats a great idea! Most of the stuff I buy I get local from independent hobby shops so posting links to most stuff really only benefit locals. That being said I have started doing better on some of the recent videos with more info and links in the descriptions. Like my paint supplier and sources for aftermarket parts.

i use a piece of 1/8th inch styrene tube and cut a small piece off and glue my wires to the inside. I am going to start ordering premade distributors and seat belts

What size drill bit are you using for the wires? This will be my first time doing the spark plug wires in a kit.
@insomniahobbies2 жыл бұрын
I honestly have no idea. All these bits were included loose with the pin vice. I just used a scrap piece of sprue and started drilling holes until I found the right one.
@eck58552 жыл бұрын
Okay. I'll look through my drill bit set when I get to work see if I have any that are small enough.

I buy 28 gauge AWG wire by the spool from amazon for boot wire.

If that will fit over the 30ga wire I use for the plug wires then I'll definitely check it out.

@@insomniahobbies Remember, the higher the number the smaller the wire is, 28awg is just one size bigger. The boot wire you have there is perfect for it. I have been making my dist.... and you have led me to the right place. Those wired dist... are awesome to what i do.
