How do we set the origin of new models to default to be bottom left?

Hi James, once you select it, it should remember the same setting for any future projects.

You KZbinrs have inspired me to try and make videos. I've got my new computer (spilled a quart jar of sweet tea on my last one) and editing software that is simple enough for me to understand and my GoPro on a DIY Woby camera arm. After almost a year of planning I'm going give it a try.

Are there any tiling examples? Where your model height is more than your cnc supports and you want your model to carve on one piece?

Tiling is normally X and Y. When you say model height, do you mean Z Slicing?

Choose with cursor does not work in 3D Mode. You HAVE to be in 2D mode for choose with cursor to work.

Thanks for posting this Leighton. I am new to CNC and 30 days into my Carveco Maker subscription. Trying to make a basic sign with text and when I created my new model, I selected center of table. Before running the carve, I moved the router to the center of the table. When I hit play, the router went back to the home position which was bottom left on the table. How do I set the origin for the carve to start in center of table?

Hi Mike. If you have set the origin to be in the middle of the model in Maker, then you need to make sure that you have set up where you want your user origin on the machine by moving to the position physically on the machine and then setting x, y and z.

@@Carveco Ah, I was missing that final step of setting x, y, and z in the middle. I’ll give this a try. Thanks so much!

Hi Leighton. The fix worked! I was able to run the program from the center of the table. Thanks again!
