I’m Bright Spring and dyed my hair different colors all the time when I was younger and often got the comment that I could strangely pull most off! My favorites were orange-red, lime green, pink, and aqua blue. I couldn’t pull off purple or burgundy (those cherry-black box dyes). Makes more sense now!

Love your suggestions about jewellery. Before getting my colour analysis done with Giulia (I ended up a soft autumn), I had my wedding ring made in white gold with a bright green stone. Of course I *should* be wearing yellow gold, but I just LOVE the way my green garnet looks set in white gold. Everything else is gold though!

About the red lipstick, I think even soft seasons can wear it, it just should be sheered out, blotted and better a not very pigmented formula (in the right undertone). Avoid full opacity matte ones.

I have one silver necklace that I wore all the time before my analysis and basically stopped wearing after. I recently thrifted an orange sweater with a silver zipper and started wearing the necklace with that because I don't like combining the metals. I found it works well as I have the necessary warmth in a big block and then the harmony between the little details :)

Well the red lips are sometimes more a matter of shape than season- some people look better with eye makeup emphasis than lip. Rounded lips with bright pigmented lipstick are always welcome, even on softer season- just have to match the undertone. On the other hand a winter with thin bright red lips often look like a mad teacher- if the corners of the mouth are downturned, or there are marionette lines, or the lips overall look very sharp and thin

I already know Vivalia shoes so it's actually nice to see the ad for them... I never saw them done by colour analysts, though! The Urban boots in nutmeg really is versatile colour wise. Sometimes, I like to wear the 'wrong' colour on purpose for contrast in small parts and this video shows how to do that beautifully! THAT ORANGE AND THAT GREEN look AMAZING on you Giulia and Alessandra!

i am Cool Summer and love to wear gold jewelry, but upon closer inspection - all my favourite jewelry pieces have cool colour stones - gold chain with a pendant in white gold and diamonds, gold pendant earrings with pearls, gold ring with a huge rose quarts.... So the tip is to pair your warm gold with contrasting cool accents of your colour palette :)
@Sleepingvampires3 ай бұрын
I think I am a summer, and I agree. I don't really like a lot of gold or silver. Silver seems too bright, not soft enough. To much gold is too yellow. I had a pair of gold earrings with blueish purple stones and I loved them so much. A gold ring with a pearl, or gold with diamonds. With my slightly olive skin a little gold blends in and makes the stones more the focal. Lowering the contrast seems to work really well with my features. I love tarnished silver, it takes the edge off the brightness, I hate that so much silver is coated to stop tarnishing, and that it is not always clearly disclosed that it is coated. I have a puzzle ring with yellow gold, rose gold, white gold and green gold. I realized I like the softness of the white gold. The green gold is nice too. I would love to see more green gold, and not just as leaves in black hills gold jewelry, which I find too cheesy.

I’ve noticed that too and that’s how I can really pull off gold- it has too have a diamond, pearl, or rose quartz element to it!

I love the point that if your hair, makeup and accessories are in palette, you can get away with wearing colours that are not even close to your main characteristics! I've been keeping photos of my outfits in different colours and I realised that whenever I wear a top in colour I don't feel confident in, I tend to have my hair down to frame my face. I've been struggling to find my season (I am pretty confident I am not *true* anything, rather a borderline between two seasons) but I have no problem wearing any colour that goes my way 😊

One of the areas that is tricky is remembering that makeup interacts with skin and is often to a degree translucent so it is the interaction between colours of the makeup and your own skin that determines the colour result of that product - blush eyeshadow lipstick etc… l look like a clown if I select the makeup colours straight from my palette but if I think about the colour end result I can make it work. I had a colour analysis with you a while ago and the clothing palette works brilliantly. The makeup takes a lot more ‘work’ and learning and trying and testing! Thanks for the tips! I think cool and warm colours can and should be mixed together - think Missoni as one old fashioned example, they do colour brilliantly.

The more I wear my colors the more I feel the question is: Why would you want your go out of your color season? Even when in your specific sub season you can do better. Like you are saying, with Autumn dark it is best to mix the lighter colors with the darker colors. I have tried to wear light colors in my palette as an entire outfit and it’s not great. I will always look better in darker colors overall.

If you’ve got choice in the matter being picky about the type of black can also help! I’m a bright spring and I think playing classical music was part of how I got good at identifying the blacks that work best for me. But if that’s too hard even just avoiding those very stark (on us) blacks with a blue base and trying other options until you find one you like best is a good way to approach it. One shortcut is looking for black clothes with gold details (like buttons) because usually those items are a slightly warmer black
@AlexLouiseWest3 ай бұрын
Useful discussion, thank you. I’m a True Summer singer, close to True Winter, so black isn’t awful but it’s not my best. If it’s warm enough, I use a v neck and a silver cross and chain to keep the black further from my face. Linen, cotton and velvet are better than anything shiny. I absolutely agree about using my own makeup colours rather than trying to masquerade as a True Winter.
@SilSolo2 ай бұрын
Another shortcut for springs and autumns is to dye the black clothes after a few washes with a brown dye. It changes the undertone of the black but will still appear black. I did this with my old dresses and shirts.

Giulia, you look so youthful in that green sweater, and Alessandra I love that happy orange top. :) If I can make a recommendation about harmonizing your makeup with your top...sometimes I fall into a habit of wearing the same makeup look each time, but it looks much better when the makeup colors are in closer harmony to the outfit. For example, I would pair that orange top with a peach lip gloss (less brown in the lipstick) so that the brightness and translucence matches. And I would pair the green sweater with violet, berry, or magenta lipstick (unless it's Christmas time).

I have a couple of questions: If I (a light summer) did wear black, or another intense winter colour, should I do just really good light summer makeup or try to "winter" up my face with dark eyes and add contrast to make the winter clothes make sense? I never know which way to go. Also, what should we do about clothing that combines colours from opposite seasons, like if a Bright Winter wore a jumper in a pattern of bright pink and bright orange?

Hi, I’m wondering if you ever use or recommend the palette fans made by True Colour International in Australia (?). I’m interested to know if the fans match up to your seasons, though they are named differently (for example, their system does not have a Summer Cool; they have instead a True Summer, which I’m not sure is the same as Summer Cool or if it is more True Summer in your system). Also, if you do like those fans, do you recommend the Classic or Corporate versions? I was recently typed by you as a coolish Summer Soft, and thought it might be nice to purchase that fan. Had previously used the True Summer palette and really liked it. What are your thoughts? They’re pricey but I’ve found them helpful. I seem to love everything Australian!!! ❤️

I have a question ❓ is a warm spring really A spring? I feel like lean towards really warm slightly muted colors. More towards warm autumn. The light and bright colors like light yellow doesn't suit me like a medium yellow would for example. Mustard looks terrible but honey looks better. I find the rich warm colors are the best though. I'm pretty light in value and i find alot of light and dark colors wash me out compared to medium. Which are hard to find. When i do find the perfect colors they seem muted and bright at the same time! 😮😊

Are there certain shades of "beige" that could lean cool? Like if it has a pink base instead of yellow base? And same question about brown, can there be cool tone browns with a gray-ness to it? I see "cool" browns and beiges in some Summer palettes online, just wondering your thoughts 🙂

❔❔If a color is warm, soft, and light, is it an autumn color or a spring one? How would you categorize it? 🤔🧐

Main points of the color would be warmth and softness, so it would be autumn color. Spring would be warm and intense. Autumn doesn't always mean deep/dark. Only deep autumn sub season has that.
