Awesome tutorial! Thanks for NOT taking us through your day of “sorry my dog is barking, I just woke up, and I’m getting my nails done today”. You got to the point and did a perfect presentation; very clear and concise and answered all of my questions, especially how to make my own spines (and how to adhere them after the book has been heated). Cheers! 😊

PS I have seen other videos where once the book has been heated and before setting it in the cooling area, take the book and tap it firmly against the spine on your desk or table to make sure pages get down into the hot glue.
@nikkisscrapbookingadventures10 ай бұрын
Yep. That's what I do if I need to heat it a second time. But even tapping won't help if it isn't even touching the glue which was the case if my instance. Prb had too many pages😆

Thank you for a great tutorial. You explained it well, stayed on point and what I enjoyed the post, you explained how to get the book to open like a professionally made book. That part really had me confused until now. I purchased the Cinch from HSN and they go through demos so fast but I felt the Cinch would be more attractive than the binding machine I was using. Most of the books I will make will be 8.5x11 with about 10-15 pages. Again, thank you for making this tutorial and all your good hints.

I love how you teach. I have this one my Christmas list for this year as I don't seem to be able to do the spine part of putting together journals. I watched one two days ago that made me take it off the list because it was to short and didn't go into the detail I was looking for. I am now subbed, liked, alarmed and commented to your channel and looking forward to more things I need to know.

Enjoyed video found it interesting and informative thank you for showing us your process on how to thermal book bind, have you ever tried to thermal watercolor paper? If so do you have a video im a artist id like to make my own books but stitching seems daughting so this seems easier in my hands and fingers.
@nikkisscrapbookingadventures27 күн бұрын
The book will not lay flat or allow you to bend the spine around like stitching wood. There is a coiled version called the cinch which will let you do both. But you can Prb use this with any weighted paper

Really good tip about using the straight edges of the paper for the binding section. I never thought of that. I have had the thermal cinch since it was the special on HSN. I actually ordered it early to make sure I got one if they sold out. I got the autoship too. I want to get a couple of the collections they showed. I have made several notebooks. Now I think I need a big paper cutting tool! One that can cut a hundred sheets at once. Not sure where I will put it.

I bought glue strips on Ali Express and they work perfectly. The good thing with the ones I bought they are very thin so you can use as little or a lot depending on what size book you are making. Cost was very cheap for a hundred and a good length. I live in Australia and I'm very happy with the results. Cheers Jan

I got mine before for my birthday instead of having to wait until Christmas. The box had a big hole in it so I panicked. I plugged it, it worked, set the time, it worked. However when I ran my hand over the top, the only place that I could really feel the heat was near the top of where the timer button was. Near the back end, I could barely feel any heat at all. Is this normal or is it defective? I didn't try a book yet as I am waiting on strips to come in so that I don't ruin the 3 good ones that comes with the pink.
@nikkisscrapbookingadventures8 ай бұрын
I think the best thing to do is to try it out and see if u can make a book with it. The sooner u test it the better so u can still contact the seller if something is wrong

Does your Cinch smell the minute you turn it on? Mine arrived yesterday and I got scared of it because just a few seconds after turning it on, it started to give this smell that like burning something. And it wasn't even binding anything yet. Is that normal?

Yes. It smells like a hot glue gun heating up

Can you use other glues or glue tapes such as redline if you run out of the cinch glue for the spine??

no, you need the hot glue strips but I don't think you have to purchase the ones from we r makers, there are glue strips from amazon that should work fine.

I have not gotten my machine yet. But if the straps are essentially hot glue, I was wondering... could I put hot glue between two silicone mats to flatten it and cut into strips?
