Tips for Cold AC in Mercedes E55 AMG W210 | E320 E430

Today I go over a few things I like to do to get the coolest Air Conditioning on my 2001 Mercedes E55 AMG. Though some of these are common knowledge this video aims to help those who may not know. Enjoy!

These are good tips. A lot of people forget about the charcoal filters under the dash and the belt between the electric fans. I would also add to make sure the fan clutch is working properly if your w210 is equipped with one, all E55s have one.

Love the video, will be looking for some tips and tricks on old Mercs. Favourite AMG would be Clk 63 AMG Black Series, but as I am not a millionaire I had to "settle" for a 209 Clk55 AMG.

I fixed my AC yesterday, found a leaking AC line, worked perfectly after replacing but now I have driver side hot air and passenger side freezing cold air. Blocked the hot air pipe and now I have a perfectly working ac. I live in Dubai so we never turn on the heater. Always ac on.

@Sammy Meken good job and well done! There is a flap test that can be done through the HVAC control if you ever want to fix that flap. 👍

@@BaldManMotors I have the same problem on my W210. Passenger side is very cold and the Driver's side is warm. I tried the flap test but all flaps seem to be working. Any other suggestions?

Nice and informative video. My favorite AMG is the W210 E55. I currently have a 2002 S430 with the AMG sport package. I bought it from the original owner last year with only 59k miles. It’s great to haul the family around in but I’m on the lookout for a 2000-2002 E55…..keep up the videos!

@Ian N Thank you for your support and glad the video was useful for you. Best of luck in your hunt for an E55 they aren't getting any easier to find, at least in decent condition. Also, my family likes riding in our W210 E55 more than our C55 or W211 E55. Just nice and roomy!

I’m sure my family would enjoy an E55 as much as myself but my kids are 6’2 and 5’8 so they enjoy the room that an S class provides them, but I will get an E55, I’ve passed on a few of them but I keep searching….oh and I have all the service records for my S430 from the Mercedes dealer, anything it needed, it was taken care of by the previous owner, I hate to part with it but I will for the right E55…

There was a beautiful silver low mile E55 on craigslist bay area about a month ago for $14,000 in SanFrancisco, it had those 2 color seats clean as a whistle, i would of jumped all over it but i got a ye 2000 E55, the 99 body style sits a little lower and better than the 2000

I have an 1998 E430 W210 and my AC isn’t working properly, it’s not the blower speed, for some reason it’s not blowing cold, it is blowing but just not cold air. Btw I’d loove the floor mats, as mine are already getting old and my fav. Is clearly the W210! Greatest car ever made

Hey BMM - love the content. I would really love to have the set of AMG mats. I currently own a 2002 CLK55 AMG but my favorite AMG of all time is the W124 AMG Hammer circa 1990s - the one that Porsche helped to assemble because of the whole widebody thing that couldn't fit through the Afalterbach assembly line after Porsche widened the engine bay to stuff that 6 liter brute in.

On the subject I replaced charcoal and cabin air filters last spring and my blower motor in September last year as it worked intermittently and eventually stopped completely. I did the mistake of buying the cheapest one and I feel that it's got much less power than the stock had. The brushes were worn so I bought a new cheap one and it even had thinner wires on it so probably I have to replace it again with a better one. Any recommendations on which brand motor to buy? There are many options available, I just want the power back. The regulator seems to work fine as all with each touch of a button the speed slightly increases.

@JK-AUTO Hmm, I haven't had to replace mine but if I did, I would likely get a MAHLE/BEHR unit but they are expensive, $182, I have had good success with their products thus far and they are also an OE supplier. I did also see on one slightly cheaper blower motor "ACM" for $126 that it mentions needing to use a specific blower regulator P/N 210-821-46-51. Not exactly sure why though, just noted. I wonder what the difference is between that and stock?

@@BaldManMotors I know that there's two kinds of regulators, one looks like a "hedgehog" and other looks more generic but the motor shouldn't care which one it has. I bought Maxgear blower for around $50 and yeah it's a letdown.

My a/c blows cold but nothing from the front two vents. Instead a/c blows from the front defroster vents at the windshield. What's up with that?

Alright now how about ac on blowing cold air out the passenger side and warm air out the driver side? Both at the same lowest setting too.
