it would be nice if they could add opacity to wire frame it helps to distinguish between hair strands and wire frame reference

is there a way to get the hair particles to import to another software?

there are a couple of basic ways to do it, but I've not done it recently. I will see if I can make a little video about it. for now, just google "how to convert hair to curves in blender", then search for something that shows how to export the curves to whatever software you use. I've done it in the past using Maya and 3DMax
