One of the best videos I've seen regarding Drop Shadows. It might be a small thing but the level of importance it holds is enormous. And, you clearly addressed that perfectly here.

Thanks for the tips and great content! I'm just having trouble understanding how this would work on a system. For once, if shadows are that flexible as part of a DS, you can end up with very inconsistent design language across a product with multi-app business logic for example. Secondly, even if you apply a semantic rule within the shadow's tokens, you'd still have a hard time "controlling" its systematic approach, if we're talking about scalable solutions for a bigger platform. I'd just like to understand how would you fix those issues moving forward with this approach.

"Contextual shadow" I would just refer to this as "raytracing" or "pbr", just like in video games... as it's the actual physical behaviour of light interacting with coloured objects

How can I get the drop shadow on last one to show up when exporting the button from Figma to a website?

Hii Awesome video, but I the overlay shadows look good, but how do you implement "overlay" in CSS. The box-shadow property does not have this? Does it have to do with the RGBa value and setting the opacity?

Thanks so much for the tips! Do you have any tips when exporting a Group (icon / button) with the shadows - into SVG? I'm having some problems with the shadow not exporting in SVG :(

Drop shadows don’t typically work well with vector graphics like SVG. Same with blending modes and blur. They can be produced in CSS afterwards.
