Dear Wine People,
Remembering the appellations for WSET L2 in Wines exam seems to be the part where most of us struggle.
Recently, we made a video with tips and techniques for mastering WHITE wine appellations (link below), and we were pleasantly surprised that many of you wrote to us to ask for Part 2-RED wine appellations.

@@thirstyandwise There are three schools in my region (Rheinhessen, Rheingau) that offer WSET in person and online and I prefer "live" courses to online, so I will do it here.

@@thirstyandwise Hello!! It has been a minute since I have been here. A couple quick questions. #1 (not a question) I passed Level 2 (wines) with Distinction :-) and in no small part due to your videos which helped me immeasurably! THANK YOU! I have now officially started Level 3 (insert loud scream of fear here hahaha) so my question is: do you by chance work privately with people and if so, is it for specific parts or any of the curriculum? Thx :-)

Joven is not subjected to any aging and are meant to be consumed while young/upon release. Please make me understand why your answer was Joven and not Crianza. Thank you.

Thank you for watching the video. What I said is that Joven indicates wines that are not aged, and other labeling terms Crienza, Riserva and Grand Riserva indicates wines aged in barrel and bottle.
