Here are three simple tips when you're a newcomer in Canada and looking for a job. These tips are based from our experience from me and my husband's job hunting experience.
Most of what we hear from the people around us when we got here and even when we were still applying for immigration often tell us "When you get there [in Canada] don't expect to immediately get a job that you like" or "Do not be picky, just grab the first opportunity or the first available job that is offered to you" and "you will start with a minimum paying job, and have another part time job to be able to survive in Canada" In all honesty, those words did not sit well with me, but it encouraged me more to try and see if I can break out of that common expectation.
Fast forward to when we are actually looking for a job, while there is some truth to those statements to some extent, you can always choose the path -- or in this case -- THE JOB that you would like.
When searching for a job, you just have to know what you want and be determined to make it happen.
