Tips for Seeing Cherry Blossoms in Washington DC from Locals

If you want to come visit Washington DC and see the Cherry Blossoms around the Tidal Basin, East Potomac Park (Hains Point), or even the National Arboretum, we have some tips for you that we've discovered after living in DC for 3 years.
We'll also point you to some lesser known spots to see the Cherry Blossoms, such as Dumbarton Oaks and the Basilica at the Catholic University of America.

Lived there for 4 years when I was in the Navy. One of the few times I wore a Navy uniform (usually wore civilian clothes) I went to see the cherry blossoms after a mid watch at the Pentagon. It was crowded early in the morning and lots of Japanese tourists stopped me to get a picture with a "sailor." 🙂 Always fun videos! Thanks! Glad you're making videos again.

We went again yesterday, mostly to see the crowds (vs Wednesday when we filmed this) and we did notice that it seemed like the entire Japanese population of DC was out and about! :)
