I’m not a firefighter however I appreciate EVERY firefighter (active duty/retired\fallen) and their service and sacrifice to keep others safe and truly value such useful information such as learning forcible entry when faced with mag lock doors (as part of standard hotel guest security) if my building-wide access keycard does not unlock said doors or if they for one reason or another fail to automatically unlock after fire alarm/sprinkler activation, how to hijack a elevator for fast access to one or two floors below the reported fire floor and executing quick and effective sweeps/searches below the smoke line. I work in public safety as a private security officer for a small startup security company and operate as a lone officer for a frequented and large scale hotel (7 floors with 142 guest rooms in total with fire stairwells/assembly points and hose lines on opposite ends of each floor to enable me to help provide and maintain safe egress and/or defend in place if critically necessary and thanks to a late relative who was a volunteer firefighter and worked for MSA I was gifted my personal PPE/SCBA with face mask and PASS device should the unthinkable happen. To some this may just be viewed by those curious about firefighting or looking to become a firefighter but to me, this is valuable material that may one day become a literal lifesaver especially when I must stay behind to assist in evacuations or rescue efforts. And to ALL firefighters - thank you for this knowledge!

Thanks actually I saw another video of them using that axis of wedge and I thought why not use the back of the ax as a hammer on your multi-tool there but in your demonstration I can see why your multitool needs to be free because it's the most versatile instrument you have

stupid question! but do you always force opposite side of the hinges aka handle side?
@Steven-T Жыл бұрын
*Extremely* rarely - you've got a better chance of finding $500 on the ground. The only scenario I've seen/heard of where you would go for the hinges is if the hinges are exposed, the handle-side has a ton of locks, and you have a saw capable of cutting those hinges.
