When I taught my kids how to sew on the machine, I started them sewing on paper without thread. I would draw lines on the paper for them to follow. The lines would start easy and get more complicated so they could learn how to drive the machine and adjust the speed. Once they got the hang of it we moved to sewing with fabric and thread.

These are the BEST ideas!!! TYSM for walking us through a clear progression little children can take to learn sewing! I was at my wit's end trying to simplify the sewing I do enough for their little minds and fingers. I hope this lets them develop a love of sewing just like me.

My daughter was 3 when she liked sewing and i would keep the machine plug off so she can sit at the machine and see how to use it 😊

Do you think the plastic needle can pierce through felt?

If you would like to use a plastic needle then I would get the pre-punched felt kit. It would be very difficult to use a plastic needle in regular felt.
