Thanks for sharing your Zone. So many YT gardeners don’t say or put their zone for folks to find. I’m zone 9b Inland Empire area. I’ve been using Permaculture techniques for 14 yrs in this small 1/4 acre home we bought 16 yrs ago. I look forward to picking up any tips you may have.

Happy to have stumbled onto your channel. Fresno gal here! So many KZbin channels are no where near our area and while they are interesting I can’t relate to their garden experience much. Thanks for sharing!

Thank you so much!! I love having local gardeners following along. I agree, many other online gardeners are far away and don’t provide advice that works for us here.

Hi Audrey, I’m in Livingston Ca. We talked before but I’m on here again and it’s HOT 🥵. We grow in ground and in large water trough as well as buckets, grow bags and totes. We have gopher pressure so this way we get to eat some too. We are almond farmers, then we have some fruit trees as well. I love to inter plant flowers and herbs with the veggies. Thanks for your help!!! 😊

Hello Audry, I now live on Phillip Island - a few hours outside of Melbourne, Australia. I grew up gardening in Ohio and then married a wonderful Australian man. We raised our daughter mostly in Michigan. I'm having to learn how to garden in a temperate climate here on Phillip Island. My understanding is that it is similar to the US zone 9. Thanks for explaining about warm and cool weather plantings.

Thanks Audrey, great info. I am here is Central Ca. Coarsegold, so a little above the valley. I am doing all container gardening as I live in an RV park but we have plenty of space for an RV park. I currently have over 60 varieties of plants including blueberry, black berry and raspberry's. I'm just harvesting my first crop of black berries and just finished harvesting the first raspberries. I want to help other gardeners that are in a similar environment to be able to grow efficiently and conserve water as all my plantings are on a wick system, I have developed a gravity fed watering system as well because we do travel and on occasion the park has either power or water outages and in the 95+ heat plants don't usually survive. You have inspired me to keep moving forward. Thanks

Thanks, I subscribed as soon as I saw this. Been gardening in 9b Sacramento since 1986. Mostly tomatoes and basil and companion crops until I retired 5 years ago. Thats when I branched out, so to speak, and now grow many edibles year round. looking forward to seeing more videos from you. Thanks.

Subscribed! I’m in Yucca Valley, CA, (high desert zone 9A). Growing mainly potted herbs and in-ground fruit trees, plus some flowers and tomatoes. It’s supposed to hit 111° here this weekend (in July). Springs are windy, winters often bring a few inches of snow at some point. But I’ve noticed that anything that’s mentioned in the Bible thrives here, with enough water!

Hi Audrey! Concord CA here. Zone 9b, which means we have less chance of frost than zone 9. It works! I'm so glad I found you. So many otherwise beautiful YT gardening channels don't tell you clearly where they're from which is not helpful. I already have enjoyed some of your videos. I look forward to learning from the rest. Long time gardener, but can always learn more. THANK YOU!🍅🥕🍆

I am growing in California Zone 9b (Orangevale) I am having trouble knowing when to back off on the nitrogen and just add compost to the base of the plant and just give them a water-soluble worm casting tea. I feel like some of my plants are starting to yellow and growth has really slowed down. Granted we have had a few triple digit days and remain in the high 90's. Thanks

Hi! I'm so glad you reached out. I have not fertilized my plants at all this season except for some starter fertilizer right at planting time. Then I added compost to all of my raised beds and in-ground beds prior to planting. Typically if you amend your soil with compost before planting your soil should provide plenty of nutrients because sometimes over fertilizing can cause more harm than good. For example, I only fertilize if I see a clear deficiency or I'll use something mild like MicroLife Seaweed spray. But your worm casting tea is also a great option! It's also not a good idea to add fertilizer when it's really hot because it triggers the plant to grow more, but during extreme heat we want the plant to maintain and put effort into producing fruit/veggies not more foliage which is what Nitrogen will do. I hope this helps! But in the description of my video there is a free planting schedule you can sign up for to join my email list and so feel free to reach out anytime via email 😊

Hey Audrey, what do you use in zone 9 for fall/winter pollinators ?
@AudreysLittleFarmShow
@AudreysLittleFarmShow 2 ай бұрын
Hi there, thanks so much for reaching out. Sorry for the late reply. I don't worry as much about pollinators in the fall/winter garden because the majority of cool season crops do not need pollinators to produce like most warm season crops do. For example all of your leafy greens, root vegetables, and brassicas will grow develop without pollination 😊
