I enjoyed this videos. As I am getting into fishing two years ago around CT and RI. I watched over three times. But things I am still confused about the rod are power, line, length of rod and action that are recommended for different type of fish.I couldn't find any where in KZbin. I am willing to invest into my hobby but I can't keep buying wrongs things anymore. Please help me.

Would you recommend a tsunami classic or jogging world nexus spinning rod for fluke fishing. Is the nexus worth it for the price?

I have a ugly stick tiger 30 to 60 medium heavy 7 foot with a the penn on it for polack and haddock fishing can I use it for porgy and sea bass fishing with a high low rig
@AdventureStreamingGuys5 жыл бұрын
yes you can, i have used cod rigs before with stout rods on these fish. You just don't feel the fish as well and might loose a few more fish than if you had a rod matched to the smaller sized porgy and seabass.

great video, I agree the reel should be 2x what you spend on the rod. Just out of curiosity, would it be okay to use 20lb braid for these reels as the max drag on basically all those reels maybe except for the maxel is around 20lb? Just thinking 20lb braid to 30lb leader should be breaking around 25lb if the right knots are used, right?
@AdventureStreamingGuys4 жыл бұрын
20# braid would be fine

Why do you recommend spending more on reel versus rod? How does a better reel help you land more fish than a better rod? Almost seems backwards

I have an avet sxj I want to pair with a light weight inexpensive rod to fish light lures/jugs of pier mainly. I’m talking about 3/8 oz plus. Any recommendations? Or is there an inexpensive conventional outfit you’d recommend for this other than the avet?

You cant go wrong with an “ugly stick”

Do u think a penn 113h senator is too big or too heavy for a fluke combo
@AdventureStreamingGuys3 жыл бұрын
well i have used it in a bind when i had a lot of people on boat and had a striper rig with the 113 on it. not what I would want to use all the time for fluke

Would you go with a st croix premier 7 ft mh fast action or a dark matter 7 foot mh fast action for fluke jigging from a boat?
@AdventureStreamingGuys4 жыл бұрын
I like both...personally use St Croix more but comes down to personal feel, balance and reel seat fit between these two choices

Is the st croix premier spinning rod a good rod for fluke fishing, and is mh or h better
@AdventureStreamingGuys4 жыл бұрын
yes, and it depends how much weight you will be jigging for your decision on the rod action

found most of the time like the heavy with a stiffer tip, it seems to give a better feel on the bottom with braid line

Can you recommend me a specific model? I am currently looking at the classic one 12-25 (the one John skinner uses). It is a heavy action 12-25
@AdventureStreamingGuys4 жыл бұрын
@@kobi1125 Skinner is amazing. Can you go to a local tackle shop and feel the balance and tips to see if it suits your preferences? I don't follow all the numbers on the rods, I have to feel it and bend it to see if I like it. If you don't have a ton of experience doing this, a knowledgeable person at the tackle shop should be able to help.
