Rare red bottles, nice job! A stiff brush can also clean excess cement after it dries.

Loved seeing this come together! Really appreciate all your great information too! I have a question about the wood framing: Is it or could pressure treated 2x6 work? Do you seal or can you paint the exterior wood to help reject rain water but also for looks? Thank you!🙏
@OwnerBuildersUnite
@OwnerBuildersUnite 2 ай бұрын
Thanks! Pressure treated 2x6's would be ideal to protect the wood but you could certainly seal the exterior wood to help with moisture for sure!

That looks fantastic, my question is, you cut the typos off of the bottles (wine/beer/whatever)? How do you deal with the open end of the bottle? Do you match then up cut end to cut end so there isn't an open/hollow glass on the other side? (Such a novice...)

Is the wooden scaffolding required to get a stable wall?
@OwnerBuildersUnite
@OwnerBuildersUnite Жыл бұрын
I don't think it's required but I've seen it done this way a lot with studs. I've also seen free standing ones without that but it certainly can't hurt it...

Plain portland cement with sand will do just fine... think we added a shovel or so worth of lime too per batch! Good luck!

I never did just because you can't really see them in the wall. Plus when you tape them together it kinda covers the label. Thanks for watching!

Hi, I was wondering what you do with the glass left from the bottlenecks? Have you tried putting them inside of the bottle and then taping on the other bottle end? Thank you@@OwnerBuildersUnite

I usually just recycle them... I thought about making some sort of sand dial timer with them since we have so much sand here! @@regenerativegardeningwithpatti

Do you think this would work on a 2x4 framed gable end of a tiny house? Above a stationary set of windows? Or would it be too heavy?
@OwnerBuildersUnite
@OwnerBuildersUnite 10 ай бұрын
I think the weight wouldn't be to big of a deal but maybe if your tinyhouse was moving often I'd be afraid it could crack... but if it was stationary I think you'd be good.
@camille9892
@camille9892 10 ай бұрын
@@OwnerBuildersUnite Thanks for the quick reply. It's stationary and the windows are framed with 2x6s. It's all pretty solid. I helped build bottle and cordwood walls at a restaurant many years ago in Del Norte. I think I'll do it! Thanks for the inspiration and refresher.
