At 8:25 you talk about the hard stuff to get rid of. I say take a picture with your phone. You don’t see that stuff every day anyway. It is stored right? Take a picture to remember it and donate it. Someone wants it. My mom saved stuff for us, so when she passed, we had it. We convinced her that those were her memories not ours. We have ours. So we are slowly clearing out her basement! Great tips for downsizing!

Thats so true- we moved in with my hubbys moms and had storage i thought i got rid of alot but we ended up with things i thought i needed 😂 we eventually moved into an rv fulltome and im now fown to a few boxes of pictures 😮 so hard but doable it took me 4 years to be able to let go of stuff that was precious to me- and to find out what really matters is not things - its relationships ❤ i still need to continually get rid of 10 things 😂

@@cherylreed4377 I still clear things out of our RV! It's amazing how things start creeping in and then you realize you need to do the 10 things game all over again!

The struggle is real, whether you are moving into an RV/Tiny house/Apt or just need to have someone move into your home, (aging MIL needing caregivers), or even a death in the family and a family home needs to be sold. Hubby & I have two totally different views. I was raised moving constantly. We never owned a home, only rented. My mother hated Knick-Knacks so if something was precious to me, it had to be small, easy to pack, and I had to justify it. While Hubby was born & raised in the same house and it was sold finally after 71 years. No antiques in it, just junk. Now time to retire and I want to downsize drastically, he wants to surround himself with his comforts. No one wins.

@@mjgobet5601 It is definitely a bit of a struggle when two people are on 2 different pages!
