Hello Mike, I've been following your page for a while. the only issue I have is the time you take to explain things. Can you speed it up a little bit?

Hi, Appreciate your support and feedback. I have done my best to learn from my earlier videos like this one and try to speed things up, which can be tricky at times as I do the videos by myself and do not script them. Again, thank you and noted your feedback.

How much is that rug in the back wall worth or was worth if you sold it? The one with the historic scene or the one with the map? Curious thanks.

The Chinese silk rugs are really thin with poor quality silk. But watch out for the Ghom rugs. They are very beautiful, but most are not colorfast. They have super-saturated colors (like that deep blue borders in the one in this video), but the dyes are not colorfast, so if you spill a drink or they get wet in any way that rug that you paid thousands of dollars for is ruined. I think they are an absolute waste of money and would never buy another one. The Herekes are top quality.

I typically don't leave comments about the opinion of others, but there are times when exceptions are warranted in my humble opinion.... 1. There are plenty of top quality Chinese silk rugs that look and feel like genuine Turkish Hereke rugs. Have featured some of them in my videos where I try to showcase the differences... 2. As I always tell my clients, silk does not absorb dyes as easily as wool, which is why they can bleed easier and attention is needed when exposed to water. IMPORTANT TIP: Always ask the dealer what to do in the case of a spill before, not after...

You may be an expert in carpets, but your knowledge of Indian ones is limited. I am Indian. Firstly, Kashmir is not the only place rugs are made. They are made in the state of Uttar Pradesh too. The MIRZAPUR carpets are famous all over the world. They are widely exported. Carpets in India are made with many materials. Cotton, Jute and silk. They are also combined. So you can have a completely pure silk carpet, or silk combination with cotton or jute. You are wrong when you say, all Indian silk carpets are combined with cotton. Shows, you have limited knowledge. The State of Rajasthan is also famous for carpets. The ones from the town of SALAWAS, are exported all over the world too. These too are made with different materials, and can be folded to fit into a small bag. The more you handwash these, and use, they more they endure. Of course there are machine made cheap ones in all countries of the world.

He didn't say that Kashmir was the only place rugs are made in India, he is just comparing silk rugs from 5 different places. Also he did say that some Kashmir rugs are pure silk, however often they have a cotton base.
