When removing the battery terminals it's actually the opposite of what you said. Ground (negative) completes the circuit so it comes off first when removing then goes on last when installing.

I replaced the battery and I traded the old battery in. Is that what you mean?. The shops give you a discount if you trade it in and then they're recycled.

@@tinytick there is a secondary battery in the car that keeps the electronics on that sometimes goes dead as well, if that is dead and you swap the battery that is when you get the electronics reset. The early models without start and stop the second battery is inside the passengers firewall area, in the start and stops I believe it is in the engine compartment. You will eventually want to replace the secondary battery as well (there are YT videos on this as well, you usually start to get a transmission reset fault when the second battery goes bad)
