This is a small video that shows some tips on how to tell if firewood is dried or seasoned and will be the most efficient when burned. But, a very important point to keep in mind is, different types of firewood will look different as it dries. Sunlight is always good to dry firewood but, sunlight exposure on firewood can be misleading. Just because the ends of the sticks of wood look grey or lighter than when stacked, doesn't always mean the center of the wood is dry! It's always a good idea to ask when the wood was cut down and split, if you did NOT fall the tree and split the wood. Plus, you really don't want mold on the sticks of wood, that can mean moisture. Lastly, another big indicator of dried and seasoned firewood is, if the bark is loose and falls off easily.
