At tuwing ready na kami mag walk away sa dealership e hahabulin pa kami at mag ooffer pa sila na “Sila na daw magbabayad ng tax” as a discount. Wow.. doon pa lang Red flag na at alam mo na inaabuse nila ang system dahil sobrang padded ung presyo nila para malaki ang commision nila. Dagdag na payong kabayan lang on the financial side. Not because you can pay the monthly payments mean you can afford the car. Kasarap ng buhay sa US ng walang utang and always is the best path for financial freedom (and early retirement). We bought 2 na modelo and brand new vehicles when we migrated sa US almost 10yrs ago. And although we were able to fully pay for both within 3yrs, we still consider that one of the worst financial mistakes namin sa US. Ive never bought any car brand new eversince, and always pay cash. You think its ok to pay the monthly payments but it just changes your whole perspective sa Finances nyo and almost always ends up impacting yung ibang gastos sa family, and most especially your retirement funds (always think of compounding interest on your investments vs your depreciating assets).

Though yung 2 kotse po namin ay brand new binili 😅 , dahil sa takot na may masira at wala kaming alam sa sasakyan, though brand new, yung lowest, cheapest trim na model lang ang binibili namin. At 10yrs at 9 yrs old na po mga sasakyan namin, and we plan on keep using them until them wheels fall off 😅. At nung na paid off na po, diretso sa investments yung supposedly ipang hulog sa sasakyan. Financial freedom is the way to go! Marami mga Filipino na i-justify nila ang pambili ng new cars or soending on unnecessary things, sabihin nila eh pinaghirapan ko naman eto so I can I spend whatever I want not thinking about their retirement. Sasabihin malayo pa naman yun… but time is fast before you know it nandiyan na yan…. and isn’t it good to retire with dignity, hindi umaasa lang sa kids or relatives😊

@@aqone Medyo natatakot lang po kami pag nasiraan kaya nag brand new n kami, though my first car is second hand pero naloko din dahil nataga kami sa dealer 😅. lagi natin kunin ang "Out the door" amount. wag tayo magbigay kung magkano ang kaya natin monthly dahil ang importante is magkano yung amount out the door (taxes and everything) best thing is mag pre approved sa banko, and then kapag pumunta sa dealership and tinanong if cash or finance, sabihin na hindi ka pa decided, depende kamo sa OTD price. kapag nakuha ang OTD price, check ng maigi kung ano ang mga dinagdag ng dealership. in addition check kung magkano ang discount nf manufacturer and discount ng dealership, magkaiba yun. wag tayo mag focus sa monthly mag focus tayo sa out the door amount ng kotse. good luck mga kabayan!

All good points. Remember, once you go to a car dealership, you're shark bait. They're not your friend no matter how nice they are to you. Their goal is to sell that car to you quick whatever it takes. Lugi kasi sila the longer a car sits at the dealership. Be prepared for battle. What I mean is do your research about the car you're interested in pricewise. Control your emotions just because it's the right color, trim or naloka ka sa smell of new leather seats. Have a full meal or better yet, bring snacks coz they will hold you hostage for hours haggling in their battle room. Once you think you agreed on the right price, then they'll move you to the next torture chamber. The financing dept. Sakit sa ulo eto. My suggestion is to just say NO to everything they offer you. It's just another ploy to add $$ to your final purchase price. Getting my financing thru my Credit Union, I usually avoid this hassle. All I do is hand them the check from the bank. Done. I think it's important for our kababayans to be informed consumers. Thank you for doing this 👍

Yung dealer lang din bale ang ginamit ko kasi ang baba kasi nung OTD price na nakuha ko, sabi ko as long as bigay yung presyo ko, kahit sa kanila na lang ako mag financing okay lang.

Shop online first…get an offer from different dealerships. Out the door dapat below MSRP (new car). Never pay MSRP or more. Kung may offer na gusto mo make sure to bring a copy of an offer and haggle a little more.

Sa mga mkabasa ng comment ko. Follow the 20-4-10 rule. - 20% dp - 4years to pay off - 10% net income should be on the maintenance, tires, etc. If lahat yan na check sa inyo then go for it.. or pay in cash. And on the side note.. explore other brands like Mazda, Honda, Subaru and Chevrolet. They're very reliable too.

Just an honest opinion in the United States owning a car is more for necessity to bring you to point A into point B and for any emergency the family need dealers will always try hard to sell you a car it's the only way they make commission buy a car with in your means a car only last for a few years good luck buying care is not for showing to others

Important talaga bago pumunta sa car dealership marunong ka dumiskarte sa kanila nun bumili din kami ng sasakyan muntik kami mabudol. Buti nalang marunong makinig asawa ko sakin at sinugurado namin lahat ng car dealer na pinuntahan no MSRP. Sa case namin may luxury car kami trade sa kanila kaya pina estimate muna ung value ng kotse carfax pero ung value Syempre sa iba car dealer bago namin pinili ung place kasi gusto namin masmataas ung value na offer nila sa kotse namin utakan ba. Sakto ung kotse na gusto namin kararating pala sa pier so wala pa reserve at offer kasi nun time na binili namin ung kotse low inventory. Hanggang sa nakuha namin ung kotse ng di kami nabudol.

Somehow kailangan din nila kumita kahit papano. Pero sa mga hindi nakaka alam ng kalakaran at hindi tumatawad will end up paying thousands more. I did not pay above msrp, or at msrp, not even invoice price. We paid couple of thousand below invoice price. Imagine kung di sila maka negotiate, parang sinagot nyo yung pang engrandeng bakasyon nila hehe. Thank you po.

Gaano na ba kaluma si SUV? Almost end of life na ba or bagu-bago pa? Kelangan mo research yung registration, dinig ko kasi mahal registration kapag yung sasakyan manggagaling sa ibang states (how more coming from other country). Timbangin mo kung ano mas okay, either benta mo kotse mo dyan tapos bili ka n lang ng bago dito. Di din ako sure dyan masyado. Between car leasing or buying. I will always go for BUY, but its just me. We like to buy and use pur cars till its wheels fall off. Di kami yung tipong papalit-palit ng sasakyan. Its just our preference. Sayang kasi pera 😅. Mag shop ka muna sa mga Credit Union banks, pa pre approve ka car loan dun usually mas mababa interest rate nila kesa sa Delership mo ipa finance.

Nangyari po samin din yan nung sinamahan ko ung uncle ko, almost whole day kami. Ayaw ibalik nung filipino sales man yung susi na suppose to be i-trade in na sasakyan namin nung nagbaback out na kami dahil masyado gahaman. Na threaten pa kami, Sabi pa samin “Alam ko saan kayo nakatira!” Dahil nag fill up n kami ng application 😂. Sayang nga di kami nakapag file ng complain 😅. Salamat po.

Then nagpaquote ako sa bank , nagpaquote din ako thru inhouse financing para madali ko ma evaluate and it shows mas mura ang bank financing. Jan ba sa US bihira ang bank financing? Oo meron din Auto finance mga bangko dito, pero pag binigay nila yung mababang presyo na gusto ko, yung sa dealership n lang yung ginagamit ko, as long as ang presyo lalabas after interest at fees ay yung out the door price na napagkasunduan namin. Mabait nga yung si kabayan, nagpanting yung tenga ko lol.. di ko nagustuhan joke nya haha.. pagod na din kasi kami siguro kasi ilang oras na kami dun sa dealership na yun.

The best advice mabigay ko sa inyo. Mag aral na po kayo dyan mag maneho, avail driving school dyan, malaking tulong. Mas mahal ang driving instructor dito sa amerika. At least mas konting oras na lang kailangan nyo sa driving inststructor dito (cheaper) dahil alam nyo na yung basic ng pag mamaneho. At least man lang isa sa inyo, kung dalawa kayo mas mabuti. Pwede din naman kayo gumamit ng public transpo para panimula, pero depende din kasi kung saan lugar kayo. May areas na mahirap ang access sa public transpo. Or worse comes to worst mag uuber kayo tuwing lalabas kayo, magastos lang. Good luck and congrats sa family nyo 🙏🤗

I just go to my bank and get a pre-approved car loan..they give discounts to valued clients. I bring that pre-approval to car dealership so I don't need to negotiate for financing. So yung final price na lang kelangan ko inegotiate sa dealer tsaka di na nla kelangan mag credit check.

Naku, di po ako familiar sa area dyan sa LA. Dati kami sa Long Beach pero di po kaganda ang area. Sa exp po namin research nyo kung saan may magandang school district, its a good indicator if the area is good, pero syempre consider din yung malapit sa work nyo.

I personally leans toward brand new din po. Di din ako ma alam sa kotse, mahirap na, minsan imbes na makatipid e napapmahal pa. Maganda po yung Pilot or check nyo din kung magustuhan nyo Toyota highlander or 4runner. Madami po b kayo kasama mag mimigrate and you need 7 seater na sasakyan? Good luck po

Ang tax po ay charged based kung saan registered yung owner, usually kung saan nakatira ka, hindi po kung saan binili. So kahit sa Oregon kayo bumili pero naka address kayo Cali, sa City kung saan sa Cali tax rate po ang iaaply. Good luck mam Joann! 🙏

To buy a car, you walk in to the dealer 10 mins. before they close. Coz they will not have the patience to haggle w/ you...and will give you what you ask. LOL. If you go in first thing in the morning, they are ready for you. You will be jerked around the whole day. LOL. If you have a job, you will get a car.

Wala po talaga kayong laban dyan. Actually limalabas pa na theyre doing you a favor and theyre taking risk dahil wala pa kayong credit. Advice ko lang: a. meron po kayo kakilala na mag titiwala sa inyo na pwedeng mag cosign, makakakuha kayo ng mababang apr (if maganda credit nya) b. Kumuha na lang kyo ng second hand pansamantala sa fb marketplace. Ingat pang po sa pagpili, mas maganda kung may alam kayo sa sasakyan, minsan nagdadala ng mekaniko pag check ng sasakyan kung may problema bago bilhin. c. Tingin kayo sa Credit Union bank kung nag papa loan sila, baka mas mababa yung interest na pwedeng ibigay sa inyo. Masyado mataas ang 10% sa 72mos pa. I will do 2nd hand na mura at hopefully tumagal until maka build ako ng credit score para in the future makabili ng hindi matataga. Good luck po.

So far majority ng na encounter namin. But theres 1 na matino (out of 5 cguro 😅). Be educated lang at mapag masid, don’t put your guard down. Okay na yung parating feeling paranoid na parati kang lolokohin, kaysa s mabilis mag tiwala. Madami na din beses ako naloko kaya it made me more cautious which i think is a good defense mechanism na din.

Mas okay sa online para may soft/digital copy ng presyo pag nagbigay ng quote via email, kung makipag negotiate kayo sa ibang dealer may maipapakitang legit na price quote. Parang bumibili ka sa bestbuy or target ng electronics nag pa-price match sila sa ibang tindahan pero kailangan may proof k na mas mababa sa ibang store, not just word of mouth. Pag tawag madali lang magsabi ang agent ng presyo tapos pagpunta mo din iba pala sasabihin, wala kayong maipapakita proof kundi sabi lang sa telepono 😅.
