Jim and Janet Harry are a great example of a couple that decided to make a difference in their community. You can find the website that they created at www.jjprep.org/ The bottom line is you can't wait for someone else to do something. You need to take action and do what you can to build relationships and get prepared before the storm hits. Jim brought up the hymn, Master the Tempest is Raging. You can see a beautiful rendition here kzbin.info/www/bejne/nWHRhGBrbqqGgtUsi=LuAQY5vcaotv4h-n ***You can learn more about the counsel of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for members to be prepared here www.churchofjesuschrist.org/study/manual/gospel-topics/emergency-preparedness?lang=eng or find a Home Storage Center near you to purchase long term food storage at reasonable prices providentliving.churchofjesuschrist.org/food-storage/home-storage-center-locations-map?lang=eng 3 Months' Supply of Food: Amazing Peace of Mind theprovidentprepper.org/3-months-supply-of-food-amazing-peace-of-mind/ Long-Term Food Storage: Creative Solutions to Build a Critical Asset theprovidentprepper.org/long-term-food-storage-creative-solutions-to-build-a-critical-asset/ The Difference Between Short-Term and Long-Term Food Storage theprovidentprepper.org/the-difference-between-short-term-and-long-term-food-storage/ Food Storage: How to Store Wheat So It Is Still Delicious 31 Years Later theprovidentprepper.org/food-storage-how-to-store-wheat-so-it-is-still-delicious-31-years-later/ Incredible Survival (and Daily) Bread Using Only Wheat, Salt, and Water theprovidentprepper.org/incredible-survival-and-daily-bread-using-only-wheat-salt-and-water/ Oats -- A Must-Have Pantry Staple theprovidentprepper.org/oats-a-must-have-pantry-staple/ Food Storage Experiment -- Are 29-Year-Old White Beans Edible? theprovidentprepper.org/food-storage-experiment-are-29-year-old-white-beans-edible/ Dry Bean Food Storage Myth -- Actual Shelf-Life Revealed theprovidentprepper.org/dry-bean-food-storage-myth-actual-shelf-life-revealed/ The Actual Shelf-Life of Chocolate theprovidentprepper.org/the-actual-shelf-life-of-chocolate/ Packaging Dry Foods in Plastic Bottles for Long-Term Food Storage theprovidentprepper.org/packaging-dry-foods-in-plastic-bottles-for-long-term-food-storage/ Packaging Dry Foods in Glass Jars for Long-Term Storage theprovidentprepper.org/packaging-dry-foods-in-glass-jars-for-long-term-food-storage/ How to Package Dry Foods in Mylar Bags for Long-Term Storage theprovidentprepper.org/how-to-package-dry-foods-in-mylar-bags-for-long-term-storage/ Potato Flakes: Delicious and Versatile Long-Term Food Storage Staple theprovidentprepper.org/potato-flakes-delicious-and-versatile-long-term-food-storage-staple/ Make Food Storage Meals Amazing: Include a Spice Bucket in Your Storage theprovidentprepper.org/make-food-storage-meals-amazing-include-a-spice-bucket-in-your-storage/ *******Here is another example where members of the community saved countless lives after a hurricane www.churchofjesuschrist.org/media/video/2019-04-0010-a-flood-of-rescuers?lang=eng Thanks for being part of the solution! Good interview. I think people are waking up, but many are struggling with needs & wants .. Its tough to get extra for "future", when the "wants of today" go ahead of "future" needs.

We need balance. The fake 2D world has been hyper inflated by Big Tech, corporations, government, education in past 20 years. Family appears to shrink. We need rebalance. So many problems caused by living alone, not having a three generation family. We need more real life like your channel. Thank you for your quality productions. Living alone means less community. Three generation means better community, helping each other, cheaper living, better living.

I love hearing about building community and caring for others. I am not religious so it's hard to find the community you have and describe. I miss Jim Phillips. I had just joined his zoom calls and membership before he died. He was such a great resource and example of sharing with and teaching so many. I really appreciate the example you both set and how you help us and make this scary time uplifting and inspiring. Thank you.

You don’t have to be religious to hang out with those that are. We welcome friends from any or no religious affiliation. We need to agree on how to work together so everyone is taken care of. You can belong without agreeing on religion.

My challenge was "go home and die" cancer at age 42. Health care community was excellent and compassionate. Surgeons and doctors could not believe I lived. I told the surgeon about faith and visualizations as well as all medical treatment. The surgeon said I don't believe in visualizations or faith. Of course not. It only works for me, within. My faith, my love, works for me. My two children gave me two reasons to live. Now 72, enjoying grand kids. Be thankful. Peace.

I think one of the bigger factors is not being sure what to think or believe when we see all the 'news' coming down the pike. It is overwhelming & overstimulating. As well as confusing b/c of so many biases in the news. I know for me, I just want to live in alignment with Mother Earth, in peace with my fellow human beings and in a safe and sustainable world with my family. I think that is what most want: a clean and abundant Earth, feeling safe & secure in the world and collaborating with their fellow human beings to make the world a better place for us all. In these times, it is terrifying. Man-made disasters/wars and natural disasters day in & day out. So many live in very small spaces in city limits-often apartments or tiny plots of land. Trying to prep within our circumstances can be very difficult. Add to that so many are financially strapped. We all know that something big is brewing, what it is exactly we don't know for certain. I grew up in a time when neighbors knew each other, even if we didn't like each other. Now a days it's hard to trust others, to know who is safe and who isn't. I feel like a tiny pebble in an ocean of confusion. I try to track what I have been able to collect (sadly it isn't much due to finances), practice with when I can. Thanks for the video!! And the encouragement!! Blessings to all--Tess

This really reflects the current attitude in our area….Church first. Too bad- I think we bring a whole lot to the table.

I'm not sure I understand your comment. I think that church is a great way to reach out to people because of meeting together on a regular basis. Those relationships have already been established so it is easy to start from there and then reach out. I know the plan in our area includes everyone in the geographical location not just those who are members of our congregation. You are absolutely right. Each of us can bring a lot to the table and we need everyone!

I'm so guilty of buying gizmos and prep items, and they're still in the box. No clue how they work. I bought a woodstove and a year later I'm still struggling to get fires lit. If it's not a wet wood issue it's some other problem or my knees hurt to much to be that long on the ground trying to get that darn fire started. So...I keep trying, so eventually I master it.

I too am a gadget nut - but the best thing is to spend a little time figuring them out and if that doesn't work - reach out to someone else that may have the same cool thing.

Save the empty to to roll, stuff with lint from your clothes dryer. Can drop a little wax from a candle onto it. Place under the kindling and light with a match. This should get your fire going.

I wish people would get off their butts in my ward. My neighbors all know I prep (atleast my garden),but I can't get them to do the same and they all have small children except one neighbor is older and her adult son lives with her. He tells her to be nice to me, because they plan to bug me if crap happens. Heavy sigh.

Our ward had a garden on grounds. I joined the gardening group led by a master gardener. We had 8-9 families tending the garden. I spent four years as part of that group and learned skills I am still using today. We had several couples that led canning and dehydrating classes. That was fantastic. Relief Society held a soup-n-swap. We made soups using items we had canned and dehydrated to share. We also brought kids clothing to swap. Learning those skills helped me develop my own gardens at home.

I'm glad you checked out the hymn - it is truly one my favorites. I learned it from a youth leader I was serving with who taught it to a group of young men(and me) and our small group sang it in church - I made sure to sing softly so it wouldn't hurt anyone's ears but I loved the whole experience.

Watching now - I do find, with how the world is, people seem to be much more receptive to preparedness. Not sure if it’s a U.K. thing, being geographically closer to some of the conflicts, or just the circles I mix in. Great work with the website Jim. Will check it out after video.
