Hi Nandini, Thanks for this informative video. It was really insightful and explains a wide array of topics to take care of while applying. On the topic of internships, it is a really good input. But as a professional who needs a Weiterbildung through an internship, what are a few tips to apply. I say this because most Praktikant positions are for students. An internship for professionals is a great way to learn and apply themselves in a field. It’ll be great if you could give a few points about this. Thanks

Yeah. I totally agree to this point. For most of praktikum they prefer only students even if we are interested to work.

Hi Tushar, Thanks for your comment. If you can write a strong Anschreiben (Cover letter) explaining why you think this is the right place for you to learn, they can consider you also if the position is not exclusively meant for students. It all depends on how you reason it.

You don’t need to add „Realschule“ or „ Hauptschule“ if you haven’t studied in Germany.

I think they do ask for translated documents in most of the cases.

Beziehung means networking and visibility in business forums. Beziehung means your references : HR will approach the references mentioned in your CV. Friendship or ‘jaan pehchaan‘ doesn’t work in Germany. No friend should or will forward your resume for a job in their office. You need to apply as per the advertised job’s procedure.

Excellent summary of everything that was discussed in both the sessions of Career empowerment workshop for Indian women. Well done 👏🏻👏🏻 Important also to mention Nandani, is that most German companies post their new positions initially internally, within their existing employees, offering internal transfers. This is the only place that your Beziehung (friend/acquaintance) can give a heads up to you/inform you that it is likely that this job will be advertised for, if there is no internal candidate. But beyond that, no one should expect the Beziehung to submit your CV to HR or recommend you. Germany‘s work culture is totally professional based on skills and capability. All working professionals are expected to continually up-skill themselves through newer trainings, workshops and seminars. HR has to be also continuously be informed of the employees about the Weiterbildung (upskilling)
