Trey, I’ve watched a few of your videos this morning ( in the UK ), and I’m blown away by both the quality of your videography and more importantly the tutorials themselves. The advice you give is very easy to follow, your attention to detail of the content (insect name, exit data etc) is outstanding. But most of all I’m taken by the peace you instil in me personally while I watch your videos. No rushing, no drama just quiet, informative and quality content. Thank you….and subbed 🤙

Your work and post processing are amazing. I have said it before, but I will say it again. Get a publisher and produce a book. You have the portfolio and you have the knowledge.

Thank you so much. Means a lot to me. And I’ve never considered that but I will now. What kind of book are you talking about though?
@AnaaNis123310 ай бұрын
@Xx7trey I second that. One of THE BEST and trendsetting younger macrophotographers financed this book wtih kickstarter. Would be surprised if you do not know him already: don komarechka. He is a very knowledgeable and friendly guy. I suggest you contact him if you have questions, he will be able to give you tipps in case you have questions in this early stage ig your career.

@@Xx7treyI’m guessing just a picture book that would have your prints on each page. They’re great photos, almost like eye candy.

Wow that robber fly was cooperative :) Also was really great light you had on it, are you happy with the AK diffuser? Also the end of you video was quite suspenseful, I was nervous watching lol :)

Yeah I couldn’t believe how cooperative it was because they’re never like that. And yeah I love the diffuser, it’s great

Beautiful photos. Although I watched a few of your vids in the past, someone at the UHH Ugly Hedgehog Photography Forum posted a link to this vid in the True Macro Section. You move the camera or does it have the stacking feature in camera? Like that jumping syder, I never get the depth of feid you did at f6.3 or even a much smaller aperture. Beautiful work. Happy holidays & happy shooting.
@Xx7trey11 ай бұрын
The focus bracketing feature in Olympus cameras will do the stacking itself so I don’t have to move the camera at all, just have to stay as still as possible. And thank you so much, happy holidays to you too

Thank you for this excellent video! I saw your photos on Flickr and was glad to see you have a KZbin channel with some tutorials and information. I've only ever done macros with a moment 10x lens that attached to my smartphone, but when I got a new phone the lens was no longer compatible. I've never tried stacking before though. I'll check out some of your other videos, again thank you so much your work is extremely high quality and the insight you shared here about halfway through the video, about getting eye level with your subject, I never thought about that it's a great idea!

Hey, great shots American dude. We don't have the fantastic range of insects you are shooting here in the UK. You are very lucky to live in such a rich and diverse place. Keep on shooting.

I love your photos and I learn from your videos, thanks for what you do for the macro community. When you do focus stacking I see you use JPG. Would it be better with raw photos or does it not matter?
@Xx7trey23 күн бұрын
I don’t think it matters to be honest. I shoot jpg because it doesn’t take up as much space and I need as much space as I can since I take a lot of pictures along with recording videos

I’m new to all this: so basically stacking is when you take multiple shots and then transfer those shots to CP and the CP stacks them as one photo in order to get the best resolution? Correct me if I’m wrong which I probably am
@Xx7trey23 күн бұрын
No you’re correct. That’s exactly how it works

why do you shoot on iso 200 not 100?
@Xx7trey11 ай бұрын
My camera doesn’t have a option for 100 iso. The lowest it can go to is 64 and usually when I have it at 64, the photos will come out underexposed most of the time.
